I don't mind late registration especially if I'm late for a tourney. However late registration leads to some tilt rebuying which can be devastating to bankroll management.

I like it very much, some tournaments have a lot of late registration time, so people play loose at the beginning and won with bad cards.

I don't mind having late registration for tournaments, I think it's important for tournament poker to have in order to be viable but I understand the opinion of not wanting late registration. I do however prefer freezeout tournaments rather than one with rebuys, but it seems like that's a thing of the past.

Personally, I’m against late registration when it lasts, for example, two hours. That’s probably the first thing I would change if I had the opportunity.

It's not a problem if the late registration period isn't too long. If it's 1 hour, it's already annoying.

I find it annoying and somehow I feel that in the spirit of fairness, everyone should have same starting point. I just keep checking how much left until late registration time is over. I pretty much never user late registration. Like 5 minutes would be tolerable.

not a big fan I like to play the full tournament. And I find myself looking at when the late registration ends to starts playing more pots.

I don't avoid tournaments with late registration. In any case, the result does not depend on this. You can register 5 minutes before the end of late registration and win the tournament. Just as you can register before the start of such a tournament and win it. It all depends primarily on your luck.

It is no problem for me to log in later. What bothers me personally is that freeroll tournaments also offer the option to register later, that in my opinion should not be given or at least the time should be reduced.
In tournaments where you pay money, I think it's okay that the registration phase is longer.

A short late registration period is practically irrelevant and goes without saying.
Only longer ones—an hour or more—matter.
Tournaments with very long late registration periods (sometimes 2 or even 3 hours) have the disadvantage of expending a lot of energy on ineffective play with very deep stacks. The real action begins later, but by then you'll be exhausted, and there are still several hours left until the final stage. It's possible that someone who joins late in late registration will have an advantage, having entered with fresh energy.

A half hour late registration for the tournament is perfect for me.

Late reg has upside (bigger prize pool, less time invested), but you’re buying into higher blinds, shorter SPR, and tougher fields.
I don’t avoid those tournaments, but late reg should be a strategy, not a habit, if I join late, it’s with a clear plan to play push/fold and target spots aggressively.

I generally like tournaments without late registration. Anyone who wanted to play registered right away.

I don't really like tournaments with late registration. At most, I would accept an hour's delay. But if the tournament is several hours late, I won't play it.

When it comes to daily tournaments, like the ones in our CC community, I appreciate the late registration. I often think about it an hour before it starts, but then I distract myself with something else to fill the time and miss the beginning of tournament.

However, if I sit down at my computer intending to play on a different poker platform, it might be frustrating that you don't know exactly how many players will actually participate by the end of the registration period. Sometimes a tournament appeals to me because it has a very small field, but then the number of participants explodes during the late registration period, making the prize tiers less attractive.

I like late reg for freerolls but not as much for tournaments I buy into. Flexibility is great but if you snooze you lose.

Personally, I prefer tournaments that don’t have late registration, but I don’t mind it too much. I will always start on time, and appreciate the extra money into the prize pool. But I also feel that the “real” game doesn’t start until late registration is over.
never late register to tournament... EXCEPT in daily 100k freeroll for GG tour, you better register as late as you can as only 2000 tickets are progressed in Saturday 100k

I don't like when there's long late registration like 2-3hours. Otherwise, I'm OK with it. It helps to build up the bigger prize pools.

What kind of field size do these games get?

I also prefer tournaments without late registration because they usually last a very long time. But late registration has certain advantages, such as a significantly larger number of players and, in turn, larger prize pools.

Hi folks,
in my opinion late registration isnt a bad thing when it isnt open for 2-3 hours and tournament usually takes for example 6-7 hours to final table or end.
Sometimes for me it is very helpfull when i use late registration, for example tournament starts at 8pm and late reg is open till 8.30 and usually i finish dinner a few minutes before 8pm, so i have time to prepare my poker session with a drink, chewing gum and other things i can reach from my poker place.
Additional i would say it is also positive if you start the tourney a few minutes before late reg. end and you try to find a fish where you can easy double up ya stack and get in good position - this is an option for me when im not seriously interested if i get into money or not(freerolls or ticket entries with low value).
Good luck ;-)

As always, it doesn't always happen

But I'm almost always unlucky, so I need to look at when the draft starts. I do this: if I'm drafted soon, I register late.
