If you don't have a baseline open range for every position you should probably think about making one. I find that most of my enormous preflop errors like this come when I don't even have a sense of a range and am just going by "table dynamics." A baseline is good imo because you can still deviate from it, but without that baseline you don't have an anchor/starting place.

@scourge I generally have a pretty good idea about what sort of range I'm opening from each position but change it around based on a bunch of factors. Though I've never actually sat down and constructed a hand chart for which hands I'll open from each position.

Fair, but you prob shouldn't have T4 in that idea.

@Logan: August has gone about the same as the last 4 months for me. Lost some, not tons, but enough to be annoyed about. How about you?

Agree on the T4s hand, even when all 3 behind look like fish not sure how profitable can make it long term, insta folding with the shorty in bb.

August was good for me, 7.4bb @ 11.5k hands, 7.2bb @ 27k hands since July (8.2bb ev )

I can't even describe how much I'm loving PLO. This feels like when my boys finally got me to move from limit to NL. Started off kind of nut peddling, getting a better feel for the game.

Now with a better feel for the flow, I'm moving toward a much more laggy game. Around 35/25, firing a bunch of flops and just generally getting it in awesome. Easy game right?

The variance in Omaha is ridiculous, though, so just make sure you stay on your A-game. Omaha can be easy because so many players overplay so many draws without any sort of made hand. Problem is, a lot of these players end up with killer equity and actually end up hitting often and, in my experience, it all comes at once (good and bad).

I feel like after the bet and call I'm basically always going up against a straight. So I'm getting laid 3:1 with one villain having another $9 to give me potentially the implied odds for drawing at my boat, and the other has $17 behind.

But being oop, if I call here and then jam my good rivers, do I really get the call enough of the time to be +EV?
