Playing 5nl mostly, but been playing mix of 2nl and 5nl this month. Heres my graph with EV line..

Wow, sympathy for you Micro, that graph is painful. Just think - you have a lot of luck coming you way - probably, if you keep playing until infinity. But yeah keep at it dude!

Been trying to tighten up a bit on opening ranges past few days. Was playing too loose from the button I think, got away with it at 2nl but higher up people seem to notice.

Today was good day at 10nl, up $27 over 300 hands, was lucky some people threw their money at my nuts hands.

Check my positional stats after and was surprised to see I was playing at 15/13. I guess this isn't super nitty, but a lot tighter than I've played previously. Just wondered how this compares with the rest of you guys playing 6 max?

Well I would label you a nit if I colour coded you according to my system. I play about 23/18 so standard TAGfish

I play 26/20. Also micro that graph is horrid, ever since I have switched over from deepstack to 100BB's I have been loosing as well :(. Doesn't help when you keep running full houses in to quads, happened twice last session.

Yo MM, nice graph man!

Another Sheffielder, awesome, one of my fav cities in England.

Yeah 15/13 is super snug pre, but if you're winning with it in your games then just carry on. As soon as you feel as though you are being exploited, or that you aren't exploiting others enough, you'll have to start thinking about spots where you can open things up a little. Until then though, just keep counting the money :)

Thoughts on this hand? Villain is an unknown, I think I should have raised flop to stop any aces or kings hitting on later streets.

UTG ($25.35)
MP ($11.29)
CO ($25.13)
Hero (Button) ($33.37)
SB ($20.50)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q

Nice river! Edit: oh, just checked the spoiler.

Yeah I think raising the flop to $5.50 would be good, then if he shoves it's probably a fold I think.

^^ man I've got to get on iPoker, soon as this ridiculous runbad ends I'm going to transfer a bit of my roll to an iPoker site.

As I refuse to deposit any of my own money I was considering requesting a stake to play 5nl on another site but can't work out whether it's a good idea or not, pretty sure I could more than double up fairly quickly especially with welcome offers and whatnot. Then I would have another roll on another site and still have my Stars roll, which would be sweet! OTOH giving away 1/2 my profits would suck. Any of you guys got opinions on or experience with staking?

Out of principle I suppose. Got better things to spend my money on lol, wife, baby, and trying to save. Also, there isn't really any need to, I know I can build my roll back up with time cos I can crush 5nl, even when running like shite I breakeven. As long as I don't play outside my limits, which I wont again, I'll be able to rebuild to a decent amount in a few months, enough to put a roll on another site. Stake would be a shortcut basically.

You've got to give action to get action ;)

You've never deposited? How did you get your roll on stars?

If you know you can beat 5NL reliably, just charge it up 100 of your own money and then withdraw it when your roll is up to 200 or whatever. It's basically free money. Why would you want to give 50% of it away? Strange principle that. Besides, surely you aren't going to miss 100 bucks?

I did deposit a few times on PKR then binked a couple of MTTs, donked a load of my winnings off on the PKR cash tables and then moved the last $200 of it to Stars and have been running off that for 3 years :)

Yeah I wouldn't miss $100 particularly but still I'd rather build up my roll and transfer than deposit, wont take long I don't think :)

So you'd be happy with 100 stake, 50/50 split on profits until say you'd profited say 100?

The thought of giving away 50% of my profits does make me feel a bit ill but I'm still tempted! Will see how quickly I can build the Stars roll back up, I'm hoping it wont be long till I can transfer $100 to iPoker or 888 and still leave plenty for 5nl on Stars.

Right, yeah I mean that would be my feeling too, I wouldn't want a stake unless it was going to come with good coaching. Having said that, if you really do want to do something like that down the line and we're only talking about 100 bucks then give me a shout. Typing this on phone so it's all over the shop sorry :)

What do we think, vs a loose passive 36/4 over 142 hands.

IPoker, $0.10/$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

SB: $20.17 (100.9 bb)
BB: $16.31 (81.5 bb)
Hero (MP): $33.57 (167.9 bb)
CO: $3.09 (15.5 bb)
BTN: $31 (155 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Q
club4.gif
K
club4.gif

Hero raises to $0.60, 3 folds, BB calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.30) 8
club4.gif
K
diamond4.gif
K
spade4.gif
(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.97, BB calls $0.97

Turn: ($3.24) J
diamond4.gif
(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2

River: ($7.24) 5

BB checks, Hero bets $3.62, BB raises to $12.74, Hero ... ?

You have to call 9 to win 36, you're getting 4:1 on your money so I think I call and pray he has a weaker Kx hand, or badly played aces or queens or something.

He has a boat a lot of the time but the odds are inviting.

Almost exactly what I thought at the time. Plus I like calling. So adding all that up together makes it a call right?
