Yeah, it's a pity the thread fizzled out tbh, b/c it would have been awesome to discuss some of the topics mentioned. He left us all hanging a bit tbh.

How about we start some posts in the poker strat section of this site to discuss them?

Definitely the latter, working out right after eating a big meal kinda sucks.

You read my mind dude, lol.

Would it be possible to copy + paste the post (also with a link and acknowledgement to author) and then start dissecting the sections.

Not sure if this is possible, any thoughts Liam?

Dunno, the thing is that a lot of the topics in that thread are very easy for discussion without actually posting the full article. A thread on discussion of hand ranges for example is pretty easy to kick off and can be worded by one of us pretty easily.

Im unsure if taking another forums article and pulling it apart without the authors consent is a great idea either. But meh, ill start a mod thread and see what everyone thinks.

OK m8, we don't have to go that far then. I'll sort something out were I'll summarise some of the stuff and make a thread about it. Cheers anyways.

OK for all of you hanging waiting for my update, been doin drive bys at the HU OH stars, 2-5 bucks, way ahead there, also short stack hit and runs Omaha and MTTs, so far down a bit this month due to dry spell at stud hl, but will turn around forthwith (caught myself in lazy play chasing two outers one way - never again).

LOL, so true! I'm going through a mini resurgence atm, and I mean mini!

Ice what works for one might not work for you. Take some time out, like at least 2 weeks and make some decisions then. Have you thought about coaching? Maybe after a decent break, feeling refreshed, with new focus after some coaching you'll feel a whole lot better about the game.

Quoting Jagsti here but this is for Ice.. I know we've talked some about this, but this advice here is solid.

What's been happening and what's going to keep happening is that every time you sit down to play every loss is going to get mentally blown out of proportion. You sit down and lose one $10 pot and one $15 pot within the first 10 minutes and you are already sitting there thinking "How can this possibly be happening again?" and it just gets worse from there. From my own personal experience I even think that when you get to the point you are at feeling this way has a negative impact on what is yet to come.

The advice given above is really good and I hope you try it out. One thing you haven't done afaik is take a long break. I'd agree with Jagsti.. take at least two weeks. More if you feel you need it. Don't open pokerstars. If you have to don't even post here... basically you need to just sort of stop thinking about it completely.

I'd also highly recommend some coaching... investing $200 or $300 in a reasonably priced coach is a very +EV decision and would help you break your rut and get going the other way again.

GL man, you know we are rooting for you.

ok so I'm on a slight downswing on UB (overall actually, but I'm basically losing a ton at UB and winning some of it back at Stars/FTP) and it was right after cashing out (cashout curse anyone?) and was down to like 800 today after losing a few coolers at 1/2. So I'm like **** it I hate UB anyway may as well play some 1knl with everything left. So I do, somehow only one player is a winner and he's 2 to my right and the crazy 85/75 fish (down like 50k over a few thousand hands) directly to my right with the 14/10 nit to my left. So basically the absolute perfect table makeup, only thing that could be better is if the winner wasn't a winner. In 76 hands I got KK 3 times and AA once, all of which I was able to involve the super-loose player. Never got a stack out of him but combined ended up getting my stack to just under 2k and now I'm going to go back from suicidal to only somewhat bad BRM and play 1/2 again. Moral of the story: When you go on a downswing and/or start losing, move up.

My goal of doubling my Stars BR via micro's was not, and will not be achieved. Largely because I am not putting in the time.

Stars doesn't love me the way UB does, and I'm too busy making dollars at UB to worry about making pennies at Stars.;)

Been studying and experimenting with HUSNG's. I played ~70 of the $6.50's last week and was advised by a friend and HU player to move up, so here's an $11.50...

BB: 1,400 (46.7 bb)
Hero (SB): 1,600 (53.3 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is SB with J

Tried playing again. Got about 70 hands in before I started getting connection problems again. Almost timed out this hand after I got 3-bet. Finally got reconnected and it said I had 5 seconds left to act. 4-bet size is optimal, imo. SB must have been soulcrushed, probably thought he won it for sure.
