today in three tournaments I've had some successful bluffs but did not abuse it because I could be taken note of and it would lead to failure.
to bluff you need time and place to assess the situation at the table.

100% yes.

bluffing all the time is neg EV. It is not profitable long-term.

A well-timed bluff is an essential tool to have in your poker kit.

Sometimes a good bluff keeps you alive in a tournament.

Good luck !

Bluffing is NOT lying.

You are simply pushing chips out into the pot.

Maybe you should look at it as a kind of question. You are asking your opponent if they like this flop. Do you like this flop enough to pay 2 euro? lol

So....players expect it, they are looking for it and it is still hard to get away with.

Good luck !

As well, when is the best time to try to bluff and profit?

This is a complex question, but easy answer for how often or if any do I bluff in online poker. I would say Less than 20% of the time. The best time to try and bluff is when you feel like your bluff makes sense and its believable.

Bluff and poker are inseparable ! Otherwise it wouldn't be poker ! How often ? Well, it all depends on the game . Rather from the situation in the game . A week ago I had a chance to play at the final table . And in the end we were alone . The whole game, I almost never bluffing . And then at the end I've stopped going card . If not a bluff I would have lost !!!

If you never bluff, your opponents will only call you with the nuts and that is not very profitable for you. You should make the other players indifferent to calling your bets whenever they have a bluff catcher, that way you're at least breaking even and, if the other players are making wrong decisions, you're making profit. But to make them indifferent you have to bluff every now and then.

To understand the math behind this concept, Matthew Janda's "Applications of No-Limit Hold'em" is a good source.

Well - I am conservative on bluffing.

I saw this Annie Duke comment when I started playing, she said if you DO bluff, try and at least have SOMETHING going for you.

But I'd say my favorite opportunities to bluff ? 3? or 5 years into playing I am?

A pair in the flop.

Now, I find it CRITICAL to use timing in online play.

I act FAST - REAL fast - SNAP - BAM - and some over the top bet, if not shove.

Now, that's a risk, but I will do that MORE if I'm way down.

I also use timing if I'm slow playing the nuts... I will delay my response to a raise sometimes, to 'present as if' I'm REALLY not sure and having to think about it.

One thing for sure, if bluffing, one has to bring PLENTY to the picnic - that is, one has to spook the crowd with something big enough to send a message of confidence 'I OWN this flop'.

MY favorite bluffing though isn't to pretend I HAVE IT - such as noted above.

My success with bluffing is pretending I don't have it when I do - the risk THERE? is on the river, I MIGHT not get paid.

But that's a better risk to have I think, simply not getting paid enough vs - losing to a lie.

And when I DO get paid, no doubt it REALLY frustrates players, even pros get upset when this happens, I guess most people play using bluffing to claim you have it when you don't therefore they are just thinking that way.

Might be why it works so well for me, because it's not how most players think, according to all the poker books, youtube videos, games I've played in or watched.

But I don't bluff TOO often.

I bluff enough that won't impact my stack, usually in the BB following a small blind limp with no one else on board.

when the enemy shows weakness in his hand after betting hard is the exact moment to make him believe that we won him from the start

I do it too much because the thrill outweighs the monetary cost. At least that's my justification. My first online cash hand I bluffed and took it down, and got this thrill. So I kept going until I got busted. Everything in moderation :). I'd be more careful with bluffing online than in-person. There's less of a sense of loss to most people online, due to more hands played, auto-reload, etc

Bluffing is part of poker. I think all players are bluffing. Someone more often, someone less.

you have to bluff to win at poker, how often depends on the table , if tight more often. Also you position and many other factors.

For sure I do , we all do, don't we?
You can't have aces or the best hand every time .
It feels great when you miss a flush,a backdoor straight or the like for a big cash pot or the tournament life and you get away with it,it has to be one of the things that got me hooked to poker ;)

This is part of the game and without it you newer win. it would be silly not to use a bluff. I doubt someone will tell you how often he does it

I think poker is a game of strategy and deception. You have to know when and in what way to lie. Many times I think how much I try to analyze the opponent and I know that he is betting without having anything and when raising his bet they fold because they lied to me worse haha. And also depending on the tournament as we get closer to ITM if I come from chips is good to lie and steal blinds. regards
