I am not sure, why winning a sports bet would make you tilted when playing poker? Can you please explain a bit more?

It’s an interesting question, but I think I understand what you mean. I’m assuming that after winning a good amount of money from casino games or sports betting, you might start playing poker tournaments without the same focus, maybe playing worse because you don’t value the money in the same way.

Sometimes when money comes quickly from other forms of gambling, it can affect your mindset. You might take more risks, play carelessly, or just not take it as seriously.

I think the key is to respect your winnings and give each format the attention it deserves. Don’t just play for the sake of playing. If you’re going to do it, do it properly. Also, the way you win money in casino games is very different from poker, where skill and long-term discipline matter much more. Keeping that difference in mind can help you stay grounded.

I think it's the opposite; when you win at casinos you're in a good mood and happy, you get angry when you're on a losing streak.

In some strange way, maybe I understand you, but I don't think most people can!

Perhaps the thrill of a quick win in casino games/sports betting takes away some of the adrenaline rush of having to spend much longer at the poker tables to achieve the same result! That's all I can think of!

Thanks for the reply’s! I think if I more explain myself better, I wager about $300 - $500 in sports, with my bankroll management stratagy make one average about $125 a day, that’s not everyday but the average, after my daily sports play I spend time at the tables, cash games and tournaments, on the days I seem to “lose” “break even” or rough days I seem to have strangled good luck, this is almost a rule, 19 losing sports days over the last 75 days and every single one of those days my poker stats are off the charts.

Just seeing what everyone else is seeing

I usually avoid casino games and sports betting, so it doesn’t affect my poker much.

But in general, I think it’s better not to jump into poker right after casino or sports results, especially after a loss.
Losing there can easily put you on tilt and affect your poker decisions.

Poker needs a clear mindset and discipline.

If emotions are high, it’s better to take a break before playing.

This is why varying poker, sports betting and casino can be problematic. What you earn in one place, you lose in another. It's better to play what you're good at and spend less energy/money where you just carelessly squander your winnings. If you saved your $125 winnings every day, you'd be doing pretty well.

This is very hard to believe. No way someone makes 125 Dollars per day on average wagering only 300 to 500 Dollars. And i dont even bet on sports.

Maybe this is a sign that you should focus your attention on one thing and not dabble in a little bit of everything?

Casino games are fast-paced and do not require much time. You either win or lose quickly. Betting takes a few minutes to select an event and place a bet. After that, nothing depends on you. Poker often involves hours of play, concentration, and effort. It is not surprising that after a quick win at a casino or on bets, playing poker can make you a little nervous.

If I feel angry or frustrated I don't play poker. There's no point in playing when you're in a negative mood. You'll probably just waste your time and money.

I recommend you find a room where you feel comfortable, then a tournament type and buy-in level. Only play that one and dedicate a portion of your bankroll to see how you do. Don't just log in to see what you're going to look for in the tournament list at any time; this means managing the times (hours, days) you'll play poker.

Back in the olden days on Bodog you could almost feel when people had won a bunch on sports. The games seemed fuller and softer when there were big sporting events. Its too bad now because bots and colluders do not seem to be sports bettors.

Revolution Network ( later Everygame) was one of the first online sportsbooks. They had a poker room which seldom had many players but the sports betters and casino regulars made the MTTs + freerolls fairly soft .

Betting and casino playing poker players are the better one s , becouse of they can count better what the odds are , if you have 2 outer in poker 90% of players wil fold but real gamblers go for it , and hit , that’s difference in play/method and winning/losing in long/short term difference, but I totally understand you what you mean with tilting in poker 🍀🍀🍀 good luck anyways with that, i think it needs some more practice and experience before you can control that and maybe you win a good session of poker because of that tilting play , you never know when the lucky streak hits in poker if you know what I mean. For example I had once on ggpoker rush and cash plo session and made from 100blinds (one buy-in) I made 1000 blinds (10 buy-ins) in just 37 hands 😂😂 that’s crazy in poker but it happens .and it feels very good when you make 10 buy ins in half hour 😂😂👌🍀🍀🍀💪💪

If it's not a secret, could you tell me approximately how much your total sports betting bankroll is?
I would be grateful for your answer.

No, friend, I personally don't like betting on sports, or in casinos like slots and such, but when I win at poker I just enjoy it and that's it.

I see no reason to get tilted after winning at the casino; I'd be happy and play my poker more calmly.

Because winning gives the false impression that you know what you are doing and that you won because of your greater skill and not luck. It is similar to winning a small buy in poker tournament and you now have enough money to afford higher stakes, so you enter them with the idea of winning a lot more money , all the time failing to consider the differences in skill of players at higher buy ins. Most people end up losing their winnings and wondering WTF happened to them.
