Which day and time are the best to play poker?

it is better to play the weekend, since Sunday expensive tournaments will take place, I prefer this day.

Weeknights is the best time to play for me. But, of course, thats very personal.

I think what people are failing to note in all the "weekends and evenings when the recreational players play" misses the fact that online poker goes across international time zones. So the notion of "evening" doesn't really apply, unless you're stuck in some US state where you can only play poker locally so no money leaves the state..

Perhaps you might have preferences on whether you want to be playing Canadians and Brazilians versus Russians versus Europeans. Hard to broad brush entire nations or continents...

Just like real fish, fish move around. Last year, poker stars was busting at the seams with fish, and whilst there are still plenty, many of them got better and many of them are now returning to pre-covid lives outside of poker, leaving the field stronger than it used to be.

I'm thinking of looking to other sites for some soft games. (Though now that my wife and I have both had our second vaccine jabs, there is more pressure to do non-poker activities for me too.)

At the end of the day, I think the game you play is as important if not more important than the time of day/week you play it. For example, Whilst I can play the Sunday storm and generally keep my focus, I'd struggle to play deep tourneys every day. And I perform best between 45 - 200 player fields (or large freerolls!)

All that said...Fridays and Saturdays, if its evening somewhere, there will be people drunk or otherwise intoxicated and looking for amusement playing poker. Quite useful to get a sharkscope subscription and look your opponents up. Quickly tells you who to avoid, and who is ripe for exploitation.

I think the 4 best times to play are:
4. Friday night
3. Saturday
2. Sunday
1. Holidays or major sporting events

It seems to me that you can play at any time, it all depends on the correct decision. Play with this card or not play.

I like to play everyday, but always late, 9pm+, specially because it's when my son goes to bed.

Don't like to play in the morning, and, if evening, I usually have other things to do.

Morning-Afternoon is kind of easier for me since i feel like most learning players come online at night

It all depends on the country in which the player lives. Of course, it is best to play at night when you can concentrate, but not everyone can keep their spirits at night.

I play poker when I have free time.

My favorite poker time is very early in the morning (every morning). - I am usually fresh and patient.
.... most of the other players (from my region) are sleeping. Sometimes it is difficult to find some players, but somewhere round the globe there are always at anytime some players awake.

I like to rest during afternoons/early evenings and come out to play when others are tired and/or intoxicated.

Midday when all the freerolls are going on.

Sunday is usualyy the best with all the frerolls and best guaranteed tournaments

I think any day is any and speaking of the time, it seems to me that it is always good when you feel less tired, if you play during the day that you have had a good night's rest and if you play at night that you have rested well during the day. Regards.

Usually i can hear from some people, that on weekend more players are plaing poker, and for example on friday/saturday night you can find lots of bad players, who just want to have some fun and drink some beer. And this is not only in freerolls or low buy-ins, sometimes this people can take fun and pay some money in another tournaments.
To be honest i still think, that you need to find a good room for the game, because i think people at Pokerstars are playing usually very well and it,s not so easy to take their money away.
Look at some other rooms, i think at 888 poker you can find some good freerolls and it is possible to play cash games there and also tourneys.

Any free time when nothing distracts you. In terms of the attractiveness of tournaments, this is a game on Saturday and Sunday, when there is a large selection of satellites and large prize tournaments

I tend to like playing during the week after work. Friday afternoons, with the whole weekend ranging ahead of you, are particularly fun. Not having to wake up the next morning is nice too!

On weekends there are the biggest and best tournaments, for those who work or study during the week and do not have much time to dedicate themselves daily.

Honestly for me either Saturday or monday. Saturday cause the bounty games some have a increase with the bountys and on Monday cause the field feels softer than other days

I have always found that late night on the weekends and early morning on weekdays are the best for me.

believe me when I say Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday all most anytime of day or night

I believe it's not about the week day (ofc sunday has the biggest tournaments) for me the best day is the one you have the will to play your best game. The day you will make an effort to win, you will have patience, focus and make the best plays you can.

Weekends and holidays are generally the best time to play if you're looking to play vs more recreational or inexperience players, that's the time you can reel in and catch the biggest fish. Good luck.
