Do you believe in continuous good luck or bad luck runs in poker?

I believe in hot and cold runs, but I don’t think luck stays permanently on one side. 😅
Over a large sample, variance tends to balance out, so I try not to chase a “lucky streak.”

I do think you can go through some crazy hot or cold runs in poker, but I don't think luck actually has a memory. You can win several sessions in a row and then suddenly lose a few, even if you're playing the same way. For me, the important thing is not letting a winning streak make me overconfident or a losing streak make me chase losses. Variance can be brutal in the short term but poker is mathematics so in longer run luck doesnt exist because real world value has to converge with expected value

Yes, like some others, I also believe in hot or cold streaks, but I try to remember the good moments and accept the failures because in poker, you can make mathematically correct decisions and still lose. There are just days when I sit down to play not in my best form, but I have to play, and my game is far from A-game, and that's what affects my decisions. In summary, in my opinion, there isn't much difference: whether you make decisions based on mathematics or intuitively - you love this game and continue to play, even despite cold streaks.

Oh yeah, I think it's not just perception, but that actually different games are being played by someone. What else is going on in your head? Do you have personal or financial problems? In my opinion, things like that can definitely influence your poker game, consciously or unconsciously.

Negative and positive streaks are part of the game, it is normal to feel that we are great players when we have a positive streak, and that we are bad players when we have a bad streak, the best thing is to study and study our game, to see the mistakes we are making, studying and adding volume to the tournaments, the results will be seen. 😎🤑

Of course—there are good streaks in poker where you can win a lot of money, far more than usual; but there are also bad streaks where, no matter how well you play your hand or your tournament, you walk away with nothing. That is why we need to be mentally prepared for these kinds of situations.

Yeah, I think poker can definitely feel like you’re on a long good or bad luck run, but it’s mostly variance. Over a big sample, things usually even out, so I try not to let a short run change how I play.

i absolutely believe the poker gods are against me ! it's been 10 years of bad luck , ever since i mucked a winner in a big cash game pot after calling a river wager in a no limit holdem game at oceans 11 casino in california .

I believe in continuous good luck… right up until the poker gods remember I exist 😂. A few good sessions in a row and suddenly I’m feeling unstoppable, then boom, AA gets cracked and I’m humbled real quick. Enjoy the heater while it lasts, because poker always has a way of collecting its rent.
