I've played with my children's friends at home, it's fun, but online it's something different, because only one is in front of the computer.

Being able to play from anywhere, choose your hours, jump into games instantly, and leave without pressure is a huge advantage. You can manage volume, take breaks when your focus drops, and fit poker around real life instead of the other way around. That freedom makes it much easier to stay disciplined and consistent long term.

I prefer online poker. it's easy, comfortable and more hands to play. But live poker has it's own vibe.

For bigger buy in tournaments I prefer to play live poker. Usually the guarantees are bigger . Also, personally I just enjoy seeing the cards being dealt and holding the cards. I find in live tournaments you can tell who's a beginner player and some of them have obvious tells. I guess there's also less chance of bots taking your money.
As well as bots, another disadvantage of online is that you can never be sure you are not playing againt a superuser who can see all the cards including those yet to be dealt, although I think this is more likely at higher stakes than I play at.

Today, in my opinion, I believe there is too much chance of bots, collusion, solvers and the like to play online poker.Play live. Don't trust those online hands where straight flushes are more common than they would be in real life.

I wanna say online, but... live poker is actually more fun but takes longer and at this moment is harder for me. I have yet to play a big event though.

I agree with you. Online poker does feel more robotic because many players are multitabling or distracted with other things. At the same time, the ability to track stats and review hands makes the game more analytical and strategy-focused.
Live poker, on the other hand, brings more human elements like physical tells, table talk, and emotional pressure.
Both formats have their own challenges and skills to master.

  • Seeing stacks in BB, tagging players, taking notes, and multitabling makes it very efficient for grinding and studying.
  • You also get way more volume in less time, which speeds up improvement.
  • Live has its own edge with physical reads and softer fields sometimes.
But for convenience and data-driven play, online is hard to beat.

TI've been playing more online games lately, partly due to lack of time, but live games are more exciting.

Play almost exclusively online but prefer the professionalism live as opposed to players laughing when they bad beat knock you out online.

I prefer online poker because of the convenience. I would have to travel 30km to the nearest poker room. Anyway, live poker is much more interesting.

I prefer online poker because I can play more games and manage my schedule without logistical restrictions. Without hesitation, I prefer online poker; I don't play to make friends or socialize, I play solely to win money through my strategy.

I play online all these years , I have never played live . Maybe someday in the future I will try to play in a casino , in a poker room , live , at least once , for the experience . I think I would like to see live poker by myself , who knows , maybe I'll be luckier than in online poker . Live poker has no RNG )))))

I definitely prefer online poker. The main reason is convenience—you can play from anywhere, at any time, and jump between tables or stakes much more easily than in a live setting.

Online also allows for more hands per hour, which helps improve skills faster. You get to practice reading patterns, calculating odds, and making decisions under pressure without waiting for the slow pace of a live table.

That said, live poker has its own appeal with the social interaction and the “physical” feel of chips and tells, but for learning, volume, and flexibility, online is my go-to.

Poker can be played both online and live, and each format has its own advantages.

Online poker is fast and convenient. You can play multiple tables at once and find games at any time of the day.

Live poker, however, offers the opportunity to read physical tells and interact with other players. The atmosphere is also very different from playing behind a screen.

Some players are much stronger online, while others perform better in live games.

Which format do you prefer: online poker or live poker?

The ability to read physical "tells" at a casino table seems to have lost ground to the mastery of ranges, mathematics, and statistics (HUDs) in online gaming. An online champion doesn't always triumph live, and vice versa, although I have seen cases 😁

Online Poker – Pros:

  • Faster gameplay and more hands per hour
  • Ability to multitask and play multiple tables
  • Easy to track stats, take notes, and review hands
Online Poker – Cons:

  • Games are usually tougher with stronger regulars
  • No physical reads on opponents
  • Easier to tilt due to fast pace
Live Poker – Pros:

  • Softer fields in many games
  • Ability to observe physical tells and table dynamics
Live Poker – Cons:

  • Much slower gameplay
  • Limited tables and schedules compared to online.
