If you ask this in a poker community, I think the answer already comes ready 😂. POKER.

I prefer poker because I don't have money to invest in the stock market (laughing a lot).

I like both; I like magical things where money appears out of nowhere and disappears in the blink of an eye, but I prefer poker. I have the option of playing only freerolls and avoiding going bankrupt, as I've already done twice in the stock market.

Poker is for me. Trading sometimes seems too stressful—at least in poker I can blame it on the river 😄

Active stock trading is a massively losing endeavor for the large majority of people. This is also true of poker.

Fortunately for folks who want to invest there are a lot of high quality asset managers with a wide variety of offerings. If you have over 100k worth of invest-able assets you should be seeing a fee based financial planner who isn't going to be selling you overpriced mutual funds.

Another thing I'd recommend that has been lost in modern 'investment advice' that I hear is geographic diversification. The amount of Canadians that I know that are exclusively invested in S&P500 index funds is mind boggling to me. Warren Buffet started this trend and many people treat it like gospel. I don't understand why people don't see it for what it is- a great opportunity for Berkshire Hathaway (WBs company) to exploit index fund flows with their massive cash reserves. I think at least 50% of your portfolio should be invested at home because you have a vested interest in your home economy doing well.

Poker, at least for me. Trading, depending on how you approach it, can be more long-term, where you’re basically waiting a long time after entering a position. Compared to poker, it feels less fast-paced and even a bit boring. Although, to be fair, it might be the better option if you end up losing everything in poker 🙂

I like both... but don't forget: poker is a game! And the stock market is an investment... although many people think otherwise...

I don’t really understand trading, so I choose poker — even though it might rely more on luck, I think I have a better chance there.
