No, in fact the site I play on the most doesn't have chat, and all the players are anonymous which is the way I like it. Even with these restrictions, some players come up with futile ingenious ways, at least futile to me, to get under your skin.

Talking during a tournament is only good if it's for a specific moment and it has to be a quick conversation with no hints of revealing cards or pretending to have a hand you don't have. I don't usually do it because it distracts me.

When someone comes to talk to me during a game of poker I can't ignore it out of politeness, but I get angry because I can't talk and focus on jojo at the same time.
