I purchased a set of tires for my truck. It ended up being the gift that kept on giving, as every time I'd take a drive I'd think of my poker winnings. (Obviously, I'm revealing that I'm not exactly a high-stakes poker player.)

I remember long time ago when I played a freeroll organized by a local casino in my City which offered 250 USD to the 1st place.
After 8 hours playing against 80 people I was able to win the tournament ( I was lucky) I recognise it he he. I gave 200 AUD yo my mom's and I kept 50 for playing the next week by the way I lost them . [emoji28]

To be truthful. My first "big win" actually came from a $500 Loss on the poker tables. I was leaving the casino with only $20 in hand and stopped by a 3x2 row of $1 min slots. I had never played slots at that point so I was like, "Meh why not?"

I threw the $20 in and it snowballed into a jackpot on that of $1500 and then the next one over I got another $1500 jackpot. Then while waiting for the hand-pay I moved over and hit a $6000 jackpot.

So, the first thing I did next day with all that money in hand was pay my landlord 6 months rent up-front. Then same with electricity and cell-phone. I owned my car so I paid 6 months insurance up front.

With the winnings I went back to the casino and amazingly won another $3000 playing slots on the Hi-Roller Wheel of Fortune. I used that to pay off almost $2500 in debt that I checked on my credit report.

Then I paid almost $1500 in maintenance and annual repairs to my car through Toyota.

After that I lost it all to the slots (not Poker amazingly). This may sound like I lost but actually I was waaaaaaay ahead. :D
EDIT: I had to sign the IRS info on those 3 payouts so I owed the Gov 30% on those 3 winnings. I hired an accountant who took my gambling info sheets (using my Casino win/loss statements 'make sure you have your card and register at casinos you play at to access this') and my overall win/loss tax accountability ended up being just $300. So that's important if you gamble and win. :)

Hi the ALL! If honestly, I don't remember exactly, that I'm done with the first winning money, since it was a long time ago...
I think, continued to play on this money, because I, how the many another players started to play in the Poker with the different freerolls. This means only one: the first prize money were not very big...

I bought me a wireless "poker remote control" so that i didnt have to sit in front of my PC for hours when playing tournaments. That was a really good investment, since many poker rooms were not playable on phones or other mobile devices back then...

I used to play freerolls when I started playing on PokerStars ,so with the first cents I won I played the lowest sit&goes and then when I had some dollars I started playing cash games.

largest cash for me was something like $3,500 or $4,500 back when full tilt was available to usa players in the late 2000s and they had a promotion called battle of the planets. i did very well and went deep. i immediately cashed out and i bought some high end mens designer dress shoes and clothes, but i still have those clothes to this day 10+ years later. i've never been that dumb with money since then. huge lesson learned.

Yes I remember. I won 1000$ and all of this money I gave to my Mom. Because I was without job, and I lived with my Mom. So to feel better I gave all 1000$.

I remember a few years ago when we were still in the States, I satellited into the casino's annual bash for just a few dollars, then took 3rd place for $2600. That really came in handy....paid a lot of bills off with it lol
