Thank God I don't smoke. But calming the anxiety for a while with a cigarette I don't think is the solution, as the anxiety will return, unless you have enough cigarettes while trying to play poker.

Compare to the pokerless days, years, when I spent my time with any kind of wonderful, 'real' work, I smoke less... Half of the amount, that I used to.... even when I get really upset, because of some flowing 1-2 card river series to my opponents, I am not so nervous, like in a workplace from the talking heads...
Poker is good for me from this point of view, too... I think, it stands for all the smoker tourney players. There is simply no time for it.

When a break is called, I always smoke a cigarette. I also make coffee. And before resuming the game, I add cognac to it. It turns out great!

Smoking and alcohol are incompatible with playing poker, but during the break, a cup of coffee and a cigarette will not hurt.

I do not smoke because of poker. Well not cigarettes anyway. If you beat me with a 2 n 7 off suit or some other crap hand when I have AA or KK then you might see some smoke rising !!! LOL

I'm heavy smoker for years and new player in poker. I would say I smoke less playing cards online because I want to stay focus with free hands when I play but it's opposite for live games, if I can smoke, I'll smoke some cigars.

I ve stopped smoking since 2007, so cigarettes are not a problem for me,but I think that poker is a great smoking stimulator.

Not really, but I started playing online to practice for live tournaments so I limit my cigarettes to breaks like I would at the casino. If I was really a fanatic about it, and I'm not, I would limit to every 1.5 hours like with actual play.

I smoked a lot before. Now it’s worse ever since they synchronized tourney breaks so I’m out about every hour. It forced me to stay inside before they were synced
