coz there actually isn't a lot of variance in it, people would be surprised. There is a lot less variance in HUNL than omaha, since you are forced to put you money in bad in tough spots in holdem, but in omaha you can get it in good a huge percentage of the time.

I'm just running ungodly bad

Belgo, how's 200NL going for you? I seem to do ok at 200NL FR but 6max still kicks my ass. I see far, far, far less donks at 200NL than at 100NL. Do you see the same? I almost think its more profitable to mix 200NL and 100NL and select only the juiciest 200NL tables.

btw, how's the 400nl shot going overall. Turning a profit so far?

Up like 350 after 3k hands. Running 1k above ev but have had 3 set under sets for stacks and no set over sets. Overall just a much more aggro game. Even the fish are the ones who tend on the aggro side and not the passive side. Instead of the usual 40/3 fish I loved at 200nl I'm seeing a lot more 85/75 types. Note by a lot more I don't mean there are a ton of 85/75's, but that most of the fish that I do find are closer to that range than the former. It's requiring a lot more thinking from me though so I've scaled down to ~9 tables

5BB/100 so far, despite hitting sets less than 3% and running below all-in EV. All of it in NSD. But sample size is still low obviously.

I've decided to mix 100nl and 200nl (FR both) during weekdays and play 200nl only on weekends. Strong table selection until i feel i have an edge over the regs.

I haven't noticed a huge difference in the play levels so far. The fishes are just as bad, imo. Not sure there are a lot less of them either. I've sat at tables where 4 or 5 players had stacks between 60 and 80bb.

The regs are somewhat better. 100nl FR regs tend to be a bit too nitty with very low 3bet% which is super exploitable. At 200nl i do get 3bet light as soon as i start LAGing it a bit too much but that's ok. Only had to leave a table once because i didn't know how to handle the reg on my left.

Also, i do start with an extra edge over the regs as i've datamined for a while so i have good stats on them while i should be an unknown in their databases. Won't last of course.

This is all on FT, which zach will tell you is super soft. Haven't tried 200nl on stars yet.

fwiw I don't think FTP is super-soft, I just run super-hot there :).

I think what I heard before is still true, that there are a few more fish at FTP but that the regs are also better (because at Stars a lot of the regs are breakeven fpp nits).

Over 25k hands at 200NL FR I am at 1.8 BB/100 which is a far cry away from my 4.66 BB/100 at 100NL FR. I know sample size is small, and I think I've run kind of bad at 200NL, but it just seems that if its not a weekend or like a thursday or friday night, the 200NL FR tables are just reg infested at Stars. The 100NL regs on stars are also super exploitable. Probably, if I played longer at 200NL I would find weaknesses in a lot of the regs up there, but for now, it seems they have a much more solid game than the 100NL regs do.

For now, as a college student I think its smarter for me to just stay at 100NL where variance is lower and I know I can make atleast ~$75/hour (Probably more) including bonuses while 18 or 20 tabling.

Since I'm playing more on FTP and not as many hands in general, and it's taking more out of me, am I crazy to start playing turbo sngs (probably the single-table 27's, 38's, and 60's) on Stars just to make some fpps plus probably some profit mindlessly folding or shoving for a while?

coaching from Jared at 4 today!

Reviewing a couple videos he suggested that I watched before but are only clicking now. If this goes as well as it feels like it will, Ill be making some hopefully awesome posts about it in the near future as it will have changed my mental game tremendously.

When will this end.
I was 600/1200 left in the 15k guaranteed 5500 started.
Put my stack in with bottom pair and open ender on flop vs a set, thought I had enough outs because I put him on set 90% certain.
I didn't and lost a big part of my stack.
Then next hand same guy hit his 20% shot.

if you take out the "mindlessly" and instead 5% of your brain it should be ok, imo. Good change of routine. Just don't let the variance tilt you.

NSD FTW! If only i could hit more than 2.2% of sets and didn't run $140 below all-in EV, i could start making serious money, imo... :D

yeah...

Thinking about it actually I think I'm gonna lay off the 60's and just do 27's and 38's. From the 60's I've played I'm almost positive I'm +ev in them but if spacegravy can have a 6k downswing I'm pretty sure I could as well. And the point of this is to play enough to make money/fpps without wanting to kill myself :).
