I never thought about giving up, sometimes I don't play for a while due to lack of time, but I always play again, I've played for a few years but this year with the quarantine I started playing again and I intend to continue playing, reserve time every week to play.

I had never intended to stop playing and the most I ever thought about stopping was for 1-2 days to cool off if I was in a bad stretch.

However, there was about a 5 year gap where I did not play poker and this was due to 1 a divorce and 2 due to moving to a remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean for work where any form of poker did not exist. However, once I was done there I started playing again and if it ever were to happen again being there I have made plans on what to do to ensure I get to play at least a few times a year.

I very often ask myself this question
"why do I play this at all, because I cannot reach the level of professionals"
the point is greed, we are lured by large prize money))

Hi all!

Yes, I left it about 9 years ago to dedicate myself to making wooden drums, luthier. With a small poker win I bought two very cheap machines to start with the passion for woods.
Now I'm back with the pandemic situation, the passion for poker revived!

GL for everyone :ah4::ac4: (life, nature)

I am thinking about that every single day. There is no money from this for me, is just an costly hobby and i don't want to spend any more money on it.
Already for 2 months i am playing only freerolls.

Sometimes there is no desire to play poker at all. Especially when time and time again your monsters move garbage ...

No not at all. Just play at your limits and all is good. Probably take a break from time to time. 🙂 But everyone should play with his own mind.

I take some breaks sometimes. But I'll never stop. It's just the best game I've ever learned.

I had to in 2006 as I’d lost about £2000 over a year and a half. I’ve started again but now I’m breaking even and loving it. The difference is now that I study. I’m happy with break even for now

I think it's important to take breaks from poker so you don't get burnt out. Patience is a big part of the game, and if you're not present at the table, you'll eventually make a bad call. Patience if a skill, and staying mentally fresh contributes to that skill.

Poker has always been a hobby for me and I play freerolls more. But recently, on the contrary, I have been thinking about improving my game and making poker the main source of income. But to do this, you need to learn a lot and work on yourself.

Not quitting but...i get really frustrated sometimes.
If you play for a couple of days cash games and freerolls..and all you do is loose both every day..eventhough you learn each day via tutorials, classes, hand study etc..that is really frustraing sometimes.

E.g. i just lost against a bulgarian guy in low stakes cash games. I had 2nd nuts, a straight. he happens to have hit Ace high flush on the river. i put all my chips in there. it really pisses me off, seeing all the money i won in cash games and freeroll MTTs fly away...

cheers

I play poker because I like this game. In this game, I like the fact that I play against real people, the same as myself, and not against the casino. In poker, I need to be able to think and be able to control my emotions in order to win often and enjoy the game. The more often I play, the more often I win. I stopped playing many times but after a while returned to poker again.
