I've quit poker so many times. Well, I guess you could call them long breaks. But I never quit because I went bust or I was on a bad downswing or whatever. I just get bored of playing poker sometimes.

Countless. But then I just take a look at my long term graph and it makes me feel better again.
"Man, I don't know if I can handle this game much longer..."

*looks at graph with hundreds of thousands of dollars in winnings*

"...but, I guess it's not that bad."

[I'd feel exactly the same in your position]

I never thought of giving up on poker, I love the game, I do take breaks though after a few days of intense grinding, but after 2-3 days I feel refreshed and start again.

I’m a big believer that when you feel like you’ve got this game mastered and you’ve got nothing left to learn, that’s the exact point where everyone else starts to surpass you.

For now never because I started 2 months ago, but I plan to never leave it, when this bad I plan to rest and take time, it doesn't matter if it is 1 month or 1 year

I have never thought about quitting poker ..at times other things demand attention .. and a break of some sort is required ... I think a break is a good thing once in a while ... I haven't always been this way but these days I see balance as a good thing ...
I love playing poker.. if I win or lose, for me the journey is what gives me pleasure the beats will happen and the more you play the more they will happen .. My family's well being, love of my country , having respect, integrity, and an open mind to others ... these are the things that are more important to me than poker .. in other words not much ..

I cannot ever imagine really just setting it aside for good .... if you love the game take that break and if you are supposed to, if it drags you back, you will find enjoyment in poker once again ...

I'm having a complete shit year. I'm soooooooo freaking sick of literally busing EVERY game getting my chips in with the best hand. I'm sick of the group I play with, 2 guy specifically who think getting ridiculously lucky is skill. I've felt physically ill all night. I'm just wondering why I bother. Not playing too many hands, reading and watching. Putitng players on ranges. Understanding pot odd, and ICM in a sea of people who say shit like "that's why they call it gambling" as the rake my chips after 2 TERRIBLE calls and having the river reward them ONCE AGAIN.

Seriously, what's the point?

This is the only time since I started playing that I've considered chucking it all. I might just buy myself a gift with my bankroll and hit the dusty trail.

Hi.
The path to success lies through failures. I never thought of giving up poker. For me, poker is a hobby and I do not see any point in giving it up.
Good luck.

lately i've been playing a lot less than before! so many bad beats made me think about giving up, many people say that there is variance but is that all hand? every tournament? I'm disappointed!

I have been playing poker for over 10 years. Sometimes I took breaks for 2-3 months, but always came back. I never thought of giving up poker forever.

I didn’t think about throwing poker. But there were thoughts about changing tournaments.

I take long pauses from the game, sure. Last one lasted for 11 some such years, lol. I don't intend on ever stopping playing completely, but putting it on a back-burner is not a problem for me.

I have not yet had the thought of quitting playing poker since I play not so long ago. I'm not tired of playing yet. I had no loss of money, which means there is no other reason.

Hi
You just need to stop playing poker for a while. And devote your free time to reading new articles about playing poker or repeating old material, as well as working on bugs. It helps me a lot when I stop playing poker for a while and do other things, sometimes I just need to get distracted.
