How many times have you thought about giving up poker?

There are two approaches to the situation. One person will be tilted and discouraged from failure for a long time, thinking about giving up. I already thought in a week I took more than 30 beads beat I was angry I didn't play for days without looking at the face of the pokerstar icon.
I lost more than $ 15.00 in a row nothing beaten just via my monster hand going down the river.

Sometimes when I have had bad streaks I have thought many times about quitting poker, then I go back to the tables to play, I just take the time to reflect and go back to the battle.

If the streak of failures is really dragging on, it is better to take a short (or big) pause in order not to fall into the tilt and to take a break from poker, and then go into battle again with new strength and fresh mind ...

You are not a poker player if you have not experienced such feelings, at the moment it is very difficult to play because the pool of players is increasing every day, plus all this a lot of stables that train players for their profit.

I have given it gave it up for a year it just take up to much of my time hard to do that in life unless you just got a lot of money it's just to much now we have phones and can play any where any time but still hard when you got a job and kids ha

I've never thought about giving up, but poker takes a lot of time. There has been many times I've been too busy to play and taken long breaks

Usually only when I loose with AA, KK, QQ, JJ in my hand, and other player win with 3,2 or 5,7 etc.
These times I get mad and I am thinking not worth to play when loosing with this hand.
But other times when I do win with this hand and 2-3 times I have straight Flush, I say ok
luck is one of the ways to win but usually the right hand wins.

I thought about quitting poker many times and I did stopped to play after the black friday in 2011. I was in college at that time and I had so many things to do that play poker was the last thing on my to do list. I didn't played for a long time and only in this year I returned to play online poker regulary.

Every day

I play poker non stop for the year of 2020 and since march every time i play a mtt or really just any tourny sitngo type game. Bad beats and coolers are the main reason i always wanna quit. but I love the damn game like a lady she treats me the way she does but i love her. I love pain and i havent lost my bankroll yet so, I'LL YELL AT THE UNIVERSE EVERYTIME I RUN BAD AND BE HUMBLE EVERY TIME I WIN A TOURNEY.

hmmmm.. lol. i dont think ive ever thought of giving up poker.. when i use to loose money id keep playing and playing till im either broke or broke even.. but i dont do that anymore if i loose i loose plenty other tourneys to be played plus you got cash games all day long online. but id never give up onlone poker or live poker i love it to much.. im trying to make my way to the top.. you gotta study poker like you study in anything els even if your already good there is still alot to be learned about poker.. theres alot of good players out there and you gotta know how to play them the way they can play you because if you dont you probably will end up giving up poker... but not me im here for good...

I took a break for most of this year.

Managing bad beat stress is something I do well.

The thing that pops into my head when I get mad is "If THIS is what i'm mad about, a game, things are going well."

As long as you're playing within your bankroll, stress is something that I think goes away eventually. Maybe you need to tighten up your bankroll restrictions? Bankroll is a surprisingly personal formula depending on your risk tolerance.

Nope, Never Have Thought About Giving Up Poker...

But I will say, I am just a recreational player who plays mostly for entertainment. Yes, I am competitive, and I want to win. I treat winning poker $'s mostly as a score keeping thing, rather than a money thing. So, I can understand that it is easier for me to not think about quitting.

On the other hand, if I was trying to play professionally, or said differently trying to support a decent lifestyle based on poker winnings, yikes, I can very easily see why you would consider giving up the game, so to speak. This is very difficult, I would think.

I cannot hardly even imagine how difficult it would be to be a successful professional poker player, meaning providing a decent lifestyle solely on Poker Income. A Mastery of the Game, Proper Bankroll management and a Lot of Luck in a Big Game would be a good start (not necessarily in that order). After that, supplementing your "poker winnings" with coaching income, promotional income, book writing, poker related side-gigs, and what ever other ancillary income opportunities there are, would also likely be necessary to help smooth the poker playing income stream variability.
