How many times have you thought of giving up poker?

I like your answer, it does take practice, and there are those who have no clue on how to play and they get lucky while we get bad beats! ;(

How many times have you thought of giving up poker?

Your answer is interesting to me! After you take a break you come back a stronger player. I'm curious to know how this makes you stronger? Are you more patient or are you getting great cards?

It sounds like you do have some anxiety playing the game, but working on life changes and playing poker is great. You don't have to feel aggressive or play aggressive, just play the game and roll with it. Relax and breathe!

I took a year off cause i thought the game was gonna give me heartattack , and it doesnt seem to be any different

I really love the game but its doing a number on me. Take some days off and everything fines, fire up some table and within hours My stomache gets all tensed up, IM like stretching my midsection to stretch myself it seems. I make jokes at home that its like my stomache is tied to the cards on the table

anyways I gotta find out what pressure Im putting on myself that causing all this or pokers is history

Poker

I think about it every day, because online poker suffers from health and nerves. Almost every other upline player has gimorrhoids and back problems. Everyone knows about it, but they cannot give up poker.

the truth many times because several times I do not know if it is because of my luck or I do not know what the fault is but even so you have to improve the game technique and avoid losses, but even so there are countless times that I try to leave it out of anger of not winning even with excellent hands

Only One Time...

I woke-up in a cold sweat... it took a little while, but fortunately I started to get a grip and come around... I then realized I was just having a nightmare!

But, in all seriousness, I am just a recreational player. I totally understand, if you are a Pro Poker Player, or just aspiring to be one... the stakes are just so high, and the variance can be so high, just ONE BAD BEAT, can make an enormous difference!

I think that is where bankroll Management comes in. If you are trying to jump levels by taking too much risk versus earning your way up the ladder to bigger stakes, I can easily imagine this scenario presenting itself. Logic says, proper bankroll management significantly reduces the likelihood of this occurring. If your skills are good enough, you are likely to win over the long-term and be able to work your way up in stakes. If you buy into a tournament which is too high for your bankroll, you are taking a BIG GAMBLE, and the outcome is the outcome, good or bad.

The only time I thought about giving up poker was a few months after black Friday. It was a hard not being sure if I could play and if i should play. I did actually stop playing for a month and then I was back. The thing is I truly love playing this dam game.

If you have never thought about quitting the game you have never played poker. In a high volatile game like cards even the most skilled players go on the most absurd swings. Skill will triumph luck long term, otherwise you wouldn't see certain players at the top so often.

I know how you feel. I don't think that I will ever "give up" on poker. I have taken extended breaks from the game. I will also never put in the hours that I used to, but never give up. Never say never

the times i broke my bankroll, i'm not a very lucky player so i play for itm and avoid dubious flips, after that what comes to me is profit. only one will win that tournament, but several get some return, work to be one of those.
adapt your game and see things improve

few times when I was really addicted and I spend last 10 euros for deposit and had a few bad beats and lost it all.. but it was a long time ago, now I have a distance and spend for poker max 50 euros monthly
