I think the most important thing when playing poker at a high level is not necessarily the length of the session, but rather the quality of it. Ideally, every hour, you should take advantage of the breaks to step away from the PC and clear your mind.

Right now I don't play more than 4 hours and I work, I would say that's ideal, but over time and depending on your goal you should increase the time, as far as you are actually playing and not just acting by instinct

"Good morning everyone, it will vary depending on where each player lives. I live in Brazil, and the field in the morning and afternoon is tougher than the field for those playing in the early morning hours (late night), since there are more regular players active."

The best time to play is when you actually have enough time to finish the MTT. Even better if you can start rested and know you won’t be exhausted by the time you get deep. There’s no point playing your best poker for the first 4 hours only to be half asleep when the decisions and money really start to matter. I’d rather skip a tournament than register knowing I have somewhere to be later or that I’ll be fighting to stay awake if I make the final table.

For cash games, I'd prefer 2–4 hours per session, followed by a proper break. If you're still fresh, you can play another session later rather than forcing one extremely long grind.

For MTTs, it's different. You don't always have the luxury of stopping after 3–4 hours because you may be deep in a tournament. In that case, use scheduled breaks, hydrate, eat lightly, and pay attention to your mental state.

The important thing isn't really "How many hours did I play?" but "How many hours was I making good decisions?"

Personally, I'd rather play 4 hours with full concentration than 8 hours while exhausted. In poker, protecting the quality of your decisions is much more important than maximizing the number of hands you play. ♠️

I think it really depends on your goals. For example, my daily schedule averages 12 tournaments; if I do well in them, it might take about 10 hours a day, but if I don't, it could be just 4 hours. So, it depends on your focus and what you want to get out of poker—whether it's a hobby, extra cash, or actual income.

I guess it’s all individual — everyone chooses how much and when to play poker, but in most cases it will probably depend on how much free time they have.

2-3 hours, maximum 3 times a week – that's cash. And 70 tournaments a month, at best. Poker is a hobby for me.

I don't think there's a good answer to that question; sometimes one hour of gameplay can be more exhausting than six hours of gameplay.

For me, 4 hours is the sweet spot.
I can play longer, but after around 4 hours my focus starts to drop and I feel less sharp.
I think 4 to 6 hours a day is good for most players, but it also depends on the player, the game and how well you can keep focus.
For me, I prefer a shorter grind with good focus over a long grind with bad decisions.

I think 2–4 hours a day is ideal. Beyond that, taking regular breaks is important to stay focused and avoid mental fatigue.

There isn't a single ideal time to play poker—it depends on the player pool. Evenings and weekends usually attract more recreational players, which can create softer games and bigger opportunities. Weekdays often have tougher regulars but steadier action. The best time to play is when you're mentally fresh, focused, and able to make your best decisions.

For me, around 4-6 hours a day is a comfortable amount without getting mentally exhausted. I can play longer occasionally, especially if I’m deep in a tournament and fully focused, but I wouldn’t make 8-10 hour sessions a daily habit. After several hours, concentration slowly drops even if you don’t feel tired, and that’s when small mistakes start becoming expensive. I’d rather play fewer hours with good focus than sit at the tables all day just to increase volume. Taking short breaks also helps a lot, especially during longer sessions. I think the right amount is whatever lets you finish the day feeling that you were making good decisions rather than just surviving the session.

How much player should play poker daily with getting exhaust
There isn’t a perfect number. I believe most players can play 3–5 hours a day with regular breaks. Once you feel mentally tired and your decision-making starts to decline, it’s better to stop and come back refreshed

I’d say around 3–5 focused hours a day is plenty for most players without getting exhausted.
Once concentration starts dropping, I’d rather stop than keep playing on autopilot.

I can't last for a 4 hour late registration tourney on ACR (and perhaps another 90 minutes or more till the bubble ). It's ridiculous . But I suppose pro grinders play 6 or 8 of them at once for big buyins . And they do it all day 6 days a week .

In order not to get exhausted, you need to play what you like and the time here does not matter
