Why do you bet the turn? It's reasonable to assume you have the best hand a lot, so no need to turn it into a bluff. When he calls the turn bet you're obviously toast so the question is how often he shoves to a fold. He usually has a King which he'll fold a decent amount.

However, I think overall it's unnecessarily spewy and fighting for pots that don't need to be won. If you want to fight back with K7s you should 4-bet him preflop. Stack sizes are perfect, you'll put him to a really tough decision and get him to give up the vast majority of hands.

Ooohh, I forgot. I played some $5/$10. My last (first) 2,600 hands had cost me eight stacks several months ago, the beginning of an epic downswing.
But I've made the first three back today and I'm on a healthy roll. Retaliation time suckahs!

way to go! What kind of BRM rules do you use while moving up this time? You're amazingly fast at that.

Also, are we gonna get 1000nl threads from you in the HA forums? That would be so sexy.

Well, the quick moving up (or rather the slow moving down) is also what's broken my neck twice so I made sure to be more disciplined this time. As mentioned before, I never played deeper than 150BB, and I would begin with an 11/8 rule, meaning I'd move up with 11 buy-ins and move down with 8. I actually respected the moving down rule this time, as much as it sucks.

As the limits got higher, I adjusted those rules, for moving to $2/$4 I used a 15/11 rule, and for $5/$10 I'm using an 18/14 rule. Now my hope is that I can cement my roll and not have to be worried about moving down. I'm not going to move up any further, so hopefully I'll end up overrolled for 1K and stay there.

I might post some HA if something nasty comes up. Ran pretty good yesterday, so don't have any difficult spots yet.

Wow, i'm such a BR nit. Moved up to 100nl with a 35/30 rule... Of course it's largely due to the fact i'm still a noob in many aspects and have no clue if i'm +EV at the next level, so i need to be confident of that before moving up. Might use a more aggressive approach if I had to rebuild.

Still, I really admire your ability to handle the swings that must come with such a BRM plan. Must be soul crushing some times.

I am indeed. :icon_bigs

But it does feel nitty to grind my way up to 100nl from 0 while I could easily afford to deposit a 100nl roll to begin with. Of course if I had done that i would have lost it all really fast because i sucked at the pokerz.

you use PT or HEM, right?

Filter your hands by type, like small pocket pairs, suited connectors, off suit connectors, suited one gapers, big pairs, AK, big aces, ... and if you have enough hands, filter those by position.

Apart maybe from off suit connectors, suited one gapers, all these categories should be good money makers. If not, go through your hand histories to figure out why. What is your game plan with those, do you respect it or spew, is it a good plan, ...

I Have just done this belgo, I am winning 48% of the time with suited connectors, pairs and big aces AK - AJo. However looks like I am a big loser with AKo and a minor loser with Aks. Also I am a fairly big loser with JJ. I am going to post a screenshot to show. Maybe you could plug a leak by looking at them.

Study thin value betting. At 10$NL, fish love to call, and you should be learning the ways that you can exploit this as hard as you can go.

small sample sizes still.

Still, the AK part is a bit weird. It's usually in the top 5 or top 10 money makers. There are so many ways to play AK wrong it's hard to spot what's wrong. Only you can go through your HHs.

BTW, when you look at hand histories to plug leaks, don't just focus on the big pots you lost. Also look at the medium pots you won and try to figure out whether you lost value because those could easily have been big pots instead of medium ones.

Edit: which is another to say what c9 said, consider thin value betting.
