That is actually an interesing question and I do believe to some uber fish (the kind that play 100/90) that it matters.

Ohh, and he is good :)

OK... sorta serious question.

Do you think since I have the chicken avatar at FTP I get 3bet and c/r-ed more, less, or it makes no difference? Overall.

No idea. Avs have no effect on me because I turn them off though I'm sure some people take actions based on their opponents av.

I personally use the fish and am often "complimented" on the apt depiction.

I might be an uberfish.. but I am slightly tighter than the 100/90 kind.

But for example playing rush poker (good lord what did they do?) if I get raised by a guy with a scary avatar and a name like cHeKMyBaLLZ who is sitting with $5.72 ... well I sorta have a read.

Then again perhaps its some crafty 65 year old lady sitting behind that screen. ;)

I feel for ya - I just did this about 2 weeks ago, ended up buying a new PC, still haven't got everything straight, couldn't figure out my TableNinja registration (all my registration codes were on the old hard drive) and ended up just buying the d%$n thing again...

Oh, for PS players - HEM has either bought or merged w TableNinja fwiw...

Woot... no need to worry about keeping my SN status for a while, I can focus on playing well and not worry about volume/limit.

Email from PS:

Dear sly,

I hope that 2010 finds you well and enjoying the changes to the PokerStars VIP Club. As a reminder, you now only need 7,500 VPPs each month to retain your Supernova status, reduced from 10,000 VPPs.

I'm sure you're right, I'm just impatient and ran in email circle hell w support before just giving up... :p

fwiw, they weren't slack, but I couldn't verify the email address I used when I purchased it (I no longer use that email address), which turned into a bureaucratic hassle.

There are really great things about living here, and some not so nice things about living here - no particular order, incomplete lists:

GREAT:

1. English is a second national language here, the vast majority of people speak/understand English well (important for an American like me  ) in the central Philippines where I live.
2. The weather - I'm from Chicago - 'nuff said.
3. The people/culture are wonderful.
4. Cost of living - though this isn't the advantage it was when I first started coming here 9 years ago, the US economy tanking had an impact, but it's still a plus
5. Easy to travel around Asia (which I don't do enough of)

NOT GREAT:

1. Poverty is at a level here that's hard to grasp/explain if you're from a major industrialized country.
2. Electrical outages are not uncommon, around twice a month lasting for several hours at a time - very annoying when you're playing an online MTT in particular lol.
3. I have 3 children who are in grade school - the educational system here is pretty awful (they're in private schools, and it's still a problem), we're intending to relocate once they're in high school, they're simply not getting exposed to ideas that I take for granted as basic to schooling.
4. Though it almost completely doesn't affect me personally, I find the level of acceptable corruption in civil society appalling.

If you have any q's about living here, pls feel free to pm me. On balance, I love living here in spite of our plans to relocate once the kids are a few years older.

Almost felt bad of this guy.Nearly 200 deep and he thinks he's getting it in vs and overpair or a draw only to see he has 1 out.

A quick question about ev relating to this hand

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Replayer
SB ($1.73)
BB ($3.86)
UTG ($1.96)
UTG+1 ($4.26)
UTG+2 ($0.99)
Hero ($2.49)
CO ($0.80)
BTN ($1.37)

CO posts (SB) $0.01

Dealt to Hero K K

UTG calls $0.02, UTG+1 calls $0.02, fold, Hero raises to $0.08, fold, fold, SB raises to $1.73 (AI), fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $1.65

FLOP ($3.53) A Q 3

TURN ($3.53) A Q 3 8

RIVER ($3.53) A Q 3 8 4

Hero shows K K
(Pre 69%, Flop 10.0%, Turn 4.5%)

SB shows A Q
(Pre 31%, Flop 90.0%, Turn 95.5%)

SB wins $3.30

Now HEM says that I have $2.25 ev on this hand pre flop. Does that mean that if I play KK vs AQs all in preflop for $1.73 say a million times, then on average I would get $2.25 back for each time I played it?

OK, I admit it, I get happy over simple stuff, guys w sexy redlines will be totally unimpressed - but I don't think I've ever had had my redline run flat for 6k hands playing NLHE before, my game has always been based on showdown winnings.

I just wish my blue line looked like your red line.

I really think a flat red line represents someone playing really well, so congrats.

This is exactly what's happened to me lately, just switched to 6max on dafa and i think i've finally got the hang of the game dynamics, taken me sooo long btw, i've been sucking at 6max for a good year now! had a real good week and the absolute best thing about it is that for the first time ever i have a positive red line!!!!

EDIT: This is all at 4nl btw. 9BI , 883bb week, tyvm!!
