As always, if this is too difficult technically then two seperate graphs are perfectly fine!

The %-graph is now like the $-graph. For technical reasons, it is still a separate graph.

I'm glad to announce that it has happened: I broke 10K by having a good run at NL400. Part of that can be seen in last night's video, and it kept on going today.

I spent only about 2 hours playing, and I've had a couple of spots where I finally found myself on the winning side of situations that I've been losing so many times lately (Full House > Flush, AA > KK).

My foray into the dark realms of NL400 has been very successful so far, here's hoping it'll continue. Chris Ferguson, I'm right on your heels now

Congratulations, Chris! Your graph looks much better than that of Chris Fergusson.

Also, due to the funny scaling by the plotting software, you now have no choice but to go to $25k in order to fill up the graph.

NJ breaking $10k Chris! At these high limits do you find yourself basically knowing most of your opponents after a few days?

No, not really, there's a lot of tables and a lot of players. Of course I meet familiar "faces" but my database doesn't have more than maybe a few hundred hands on anyone at this point.

By the way, it's truly amazing how many completely clueless players you'll encounter even at NL400. There's absolutely no shortage.

Day 114, poor day all around, but I have had worse. Lost CCoP#8, lost at Full Tilt Poker getting my 50 points, won a pittance at Ultimatebet. Maybe tomorrow will be better. There were off-line distractions to my play that I will minimize in the future.

I was holding on to hands that were most likely beaten. I have realized that the people I am playing against will have called with garbage and can hit. If a 75 would make somebody a straight, chances are good that a bettor has it.

Where were you today when my pocket jacks hit a 7 10 J board today? There's no way that donk who just re-raised me all-in called a decent pre-flop raise with 8-9.... oops.

Its an insperation to continue and do better.

Today overall was a good day. I started out really strong and jumped from my $48 BR to $62 in about an hour. I was playing 2 ring $.02/.05 games and started in a $2 MTT. I was doing really good in all 3 and then I got 2 incredibly bad beats in one of my rings games. First one I hit a full house with my pocket 8's only to be beaten by a full house made with pocket A's. 2 hands later my pocket AA's got cracked by K 10 and just like that I lost $14 in a matter of 4 hands. I was pretty shocked but tried to keep my composure. It messed with my MTT game and I ended up getting kicked off 100 people before the money

But I kept it together and made a good amount of money later. So with that I'm pretty happy with today

Day 3: 85% ($43.45)
Day 4: 96% ($48.95)
Day 5: 110% ($55.85)

EDIT: I tried to make a graph but it wasn't working for me

I kept getting red X's instead of pictures.

It seems like those are wild swings in your bankroll, Art. This day each ring game was 10% of your roll, was it not? And the MTT was another 5%? If I calculate correctly, you had 25% in play at once, which is five times what is generally thought to be prudent.

As an aside, that first "incredibly bad beat" was a pair of eights going to a pair of aces since you both had the board trips. That is not a bad beat, that is a beat.

Don't try to draw any conclusions yet. You have too few sessions and also you play way too big for your BR. Try to play smaller and give it some time.

I get red x's sometimes, too. Don't know why. However, I plotted today using Cheetah's program. I cut out all the data before my New and Improved Pigpen when I was getting back into the swing of limit ring. This timeframe is more in line with Chris and Boltneck, anyway.

Today was good at both Full Tilt Poker and Ultimatebet. There were no good 2/4 tables at Full Tilt Poker so I played two 1/2. I had my 50 Iron Man points before 6 AM. I played a single 1/2 at Ultimatebet for a while as I build up that site bankroll. Half of my bankroll is in my poker bank account awaiting my decision where to put it, but I count it when calculating what limits to play and graph %. So far, so good.

I'm out of the loop here on the dotted brown line. What does it mean? How does it display based on data input? An average?

The dotted line is a regression best fit line for the data. Cheetah has taken the slope of the line and displayed it as $/session on the graphs of $. Since I think absolute bankroll is NOYB, I only provide % and get no %/session, which is OK.

Another relatively uneventful day today, though I do seem to be cursed by reverse domination of late. On 4 occasions I had AK or AQ and despite hitting top pair on either flop or turn was beaten by 2 pair (A4, A9, KT and A2 respectively). I did get a lucky break to off-set this though – I picked up QT in the big blind, and badly overplayed it on a flop of QJT (aggressive villain had 98) but caught a Q on the river! Oh, and I almost forgot, I had to share a $40 pot with KQs (K3Q K J). Not a bad beat, not any kind of beat for that matter – but just as frustrating.

I’m still playing 2 tables at 50c / $1 and finding it far easier than I thought I would – though really want to move up to $1 / $2. Repeat after me “you MUST be patient Boltneck, your BR does not support the higher level”!!!!!!!

At today's high point I was considerably past 12K but took a few beats later in the day. I'm still running quite good though, so it's all fine.

I also played another $100+8 and got busted in the 5th hand when my QQ went all-in against AKo and A3s. An Ace hit and it was all over, but I'd rather go busto right at the beginning of the tournament than after I've spent several hours of playing. I'll try again tomorrow.

i was heads up in a sng and was 5-1 chip leader three times. first time he sucked out 19-1 dog, then again 9-1 then again 4-1 friggin so sick. i ended up finishing second because i couldnt shake that ****ing luckbox.

I need clarification on something. Is not the bankroll limit on two 50c / $1 tables the same as one $1 / $2 table? That would be about $400 to $1,000 for limit. That is the way I am calcluating what tables I should play. Should I be able to play any number of tables if a single table fits within the bankroll limit?

My view on this (and it could be completely wrong - so would appreciate clarification from others) is that multitabling is fine. The whole point of playing within your BRM is to allow for swings and varience. In theory, if you played at 20 table simultaneously at NL using your entire BR split between the 20 tables, some tables you would loose a due to bad luck, and others you would win at - thus balancing out the variance.

That's my understanding at least, but could be wrong.

I can see your view. I guess each of us can do whatever we jolly well please, because it is our money. I am much more conservative in my table risk, I guess. I don't want to have everything tied up in case I have to go to the well to cover variance swings.

Today variance had bitten me in the ass. People were rivering me left and right. For example, I had two highest pair on the turn and villain had been calling all along. River was a 7, no flush or straight possibilities, so bet or raised (don't remember which) since this had to miss villain. NOOOOOO! He had a pair of 7s and got his set. Whole table of these river rats! After almost two hours of this I was down as much as any day on my graph. However, this is the kind of people you want to play with. I sat out for an orbit, got a mug of coffee, stayed for another twenty minutes and broke even (even a little ahead with bonus). Would have stayed longer, but ran out of playing time.
