Do you like sitting at a table full of shortstacks? Then play cap.

yes and no.

Tables full of shortstacks usually disappear because even those braindead players know that the rake would kill them playing each other. Shortstackers play cap against players whose opening ranges are suited for deep play, and that's where their edge come from.

If you find a cap table where people play suited connectors and small pairs for set value, you can sit there and profit. Otherwise, don't.

It's been awhile since I've been able to dedicate several hours to playing poker, but I did tonight and had a massive session. Ended up +$185 on four tables at $25NL full ring. I wish every night could be like this!

Here's my favorite hand of the evening.

$25 NLHE full ring

BB: $7 (28 bb)
UTG+2: $9.39 (37.6 bb)
MP1: $18.15 (72.6 bb)

MP3: $1.95 (7.8 bb)
CO: $51.59 (206.4 bb)
BTN: $56.51 (226 bb)
Hero (SB): $112.75 (451 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is SB with A

UTG+2 calls $0.25, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, 2 folds, BTN raises to $0.50, Hero raises to $2.10, 3 folds, BTN calls $1.60

And the result? Villain had Q8o and gifted me a nice pot. :)

Ohh - good luck! Remember you can choose between that one and the warm-up.

Thanks Dakota, a friend from out of town is coming down today so I might miss this week and might not make the 5 card draw cccop either which might be a good thing because I have never played it lol but read the rules only.

What are the major differences/benifits between the Million and the Warm-up?

Warm-up:

Less people, less to get through to the money, not as much money if/when you make the money or win it all

million:

More people, but much bigger prize pool

You know like the usual $1 sngs when I had no roll and no experience. When I started poker and didn't play serious. One day I installed stars, had a problem connecting, googled the error, found cardschat (THANK YOU GOOGLE), someone awesome helped me in PM and later I downloaded tilt from the tilt site.

Then they started giving out rb to older players last month. I think I was already on the list cause I requested it like a month prior. Sent an email because shrog mentioned it here and a couple of days later I got it.

But no not serious grinding/poker on tilt prior to rb. I had rakeback on a 2nd account I made but no money on tilt. Then when I got a roll going I mailed them to ask if I could keep the rb account because I had 2 and no money/deposit history on either and I was looking to deposit. So was basically asking if they wanted my action or not and ofc they closed the rb one :).

Had you signed up through another affiliate for that first account or no affiliate? It's possible i'm not even eligible, although from what i understood after 60 days of not having played real money you are no longer tracked to an affiliate.

Anyway, just got back from WV game, $50 tourney ...

I show up about 9:30 for this (tourney starts at 8) because 1) tourneys tilt me and 2) the side cash games are generally more profitable. Anyway I walk in and Umbrella man and a few others are just putting chips on the table to start the cash game, so I had perfect timing. I buy-in for $50 and sit down to Zach's immediate left so I can have a little positional advantage.

I mostly folded for what seems like hours and marvel at Zach's amazing ability to dodge bullets (5 hands against him and not a single club in a 6-way all-in? rigged!). My biggest hand of the night is one of only a handful of limped pots. I have pocket 2s and limp behind a few limpers from the BTN. Flop is K2Q. It checks to me and I bet a couple bucks. Both blinds call. Everyone else folds. Turn is K, both blinds check, I bet $5 and they both call. The river is a J and again both blinds check. I bet $20, the small blind calls and the big blind raises for her last $25. I'm concerned about the bigger boat but I call as does the sb, although he doesn't seem hapy about it. SB show K3, BB shows K8, and I take the ~$160 pot.

I ended up winning ~$180 and had some fun so it was definately a good night out.

Nope. The way I remember it is I just downloaded the software from their own site. So that would mean no affiliate. Having an affiliate royally screws u afaik.

Decent sort of weekend imo. After the dip at hand 1700 (50nl) I started playing on Everest. And well.. The graph speaks for itself :)

Well i just emailed party support and basically asked for them to give me 3 100USD no deposit reload bonuses, which would get me to 12k points so i could unlock a $1k bonus and clear that. Although i'm too lazy to do the math, if they give me that (and i think they will, seeing as they tend to be pretty good at handing out reload bonuses and i made a compelling argument), the $1300 in bonus and using the extra points i make from clearing the bonus + any promotions they do over the next little while, will, i believe, give me 50-60k hands at nl200 that will essentially be the same as 50c max rake w/ no rakeback (so basically what i'd get at stars, but at least at party i can withdraw 10k and still have more than enough to play nl200, so i should be able to build a roll on stars at the same time)

Well idk, party is really odd that way. Like if you make the VIP group, they say they'll give you 30%, but it seems like the onus is on you to ask for bonuses if they aren't giving you enough to make 30%. And since i cleared the $500 deposit bonus, i've had one reload bonus that i used (i think there was at least one i didn't bother with) and at least 3 no deposit reload bonuses for 100 that they just randomly give, so i'm pretty sure they'll give it to me, when i've threatened to stop without it and even with the bonus they are still making significantly more in rake than they were w/ original rake and no bonus.

I'm more just hoping they will overturn it sometime during those 60k hands, as w/ the shitty rewards systems for players at lower stakes/medium to low volume, most of the nl50 and nl100 "regs" at least will have to quit, since players that can crush those levels move up quick and i doubt they are beatable by an average reg w/ bad rakeback, and most of the breakeven/slight winners at nl200 (and mb nl400) will probably stop and play 6max/move sites. Hell, i've beaten nl200 for a little over 7BB/100 over a very long period and i'm intending to stop.

What Zach said plus - for those of you in the UK the timing of the warm-up might be better. It starts over 3 hours earlier.

Any of you had this happen to him? Any chance I can get FT to compensate me for this? Problem was clearly with their software as I could connect to the web without trouble at the same time.

Had it loads of times last week. One time I 3bet KK and cbet a set of 88 on a diff table when the discon happened. When I finally came back I obv lost both hands to auto fold.

But it was because of my internet disconnecting all the time, nothing to do with tilt .. :(:(

i'm not sure they will do anything for you. they used to have a disconnect policy that if you disconnected during a hand that you would be considered allin for the amount you were had in the pot. but people were disconnecting on porpose when they had a good draw without odds etc.. now the got a longer reconnect timer. but my tilt disconnected often and i still got the internet. i'm sure you going to e-mail them let us know what happens.

Cheers folks.

Long, long, long, long, long, long, long way to go.

But clearly I'm about to win it.

(btw look up the guy to my right if you want to be jealous of winnings)
