multi purpose post:

as for bw's graph: :( hang in there!

yes... Wild Wild West is def one of Will Smith's better music vids

on a serious note... i've resolved to cut my complaining down in here... i'm one of i think several that does it a bit too much. Not saying i'll never complain (sometimes venting somewhere is theraputic!) but going to make a concentrated effort to keep it positive.

hold me to it guys!

I've thought about doing this many times. But then again, it is a monthly CHAT thread. And venting can make u feel better.

It just gets boring for people to read ldo.
Plus: how else am I supposed to get most under EV complainer back to back years ?

lol live games. €25 freezout final table, I 3bet-shove AK for 25bb's from the button, big blind tells us that he is learning about blind defence and calls with K7o for 3/4 of his stack, initial raiser feels he has pot odds and calls with KQ.

Flop 7 Q 2 (face-palm), then some donk from MP starts searching the muck for his 72, and announcing that he is now on tilt. Anyway, gonna have a beer and go to bed.

Edit : Oh shit BW, is that a 26 buyin downswing, or are you playing nl$200 ? Still sick.

^ now that qualifies as legit complaining.

lol @ "learning about blind defence" I don't think that means what you think it means.

All you peeps that played 25nl, $50-$100 swings in a session are common right? At first I thought I sucked, then I realized that maybe 3-4 buy-in swings are not that infrequent...right?

3-4 buy-ins isnt alot and u obvs should drop that every now and then, i have had a few -3-4 buy-in seasions a since i moved to 25nl, luckily they are few and far between(knock on wood).
Instead of looking at a single seesion look at the big picture imo.

25nl deep stacked home cash game tonight, i maked 35$.
Intresting hands:
I raise from CO with QTs and flop a OEST on a KJx two diamonds board, cbet gets called turn the straight, fire again he calls, 3rd diamond on river villain leads out for 1/6 the pot i call and he shows 23d.

Worst villain ever opens for 6bb i 3bet with KK get 4bet by good player i shove both villains call and turn over JJ and A9s, kings hold.

I open 6BB with AA, get 5 calls flop is KQxss i cbet and get 4 calls turn is a T and all hell breaks lose and i fold, villains turn over J9, AJ and KT.

Open AA from the button SB who i have no read on calls, flop is KK9 he donks i call, turn is x he leads i call, river goes c/c and he shows T9.

Raise KJ from the blinds 3 limpers call, flop is J56 i c-bet and villain 1 fold AJ face up and starts cursing he never hits, we then point out the fact he had TPTK and he whants to take it back(witch we obvs. didnt allow), i end up winning the pot with my pair of jack and villain starts tilting :).

I applaud you.

I have also made a commitment to this ideal in the last few months (not so much here in this thread since I only lurk here and poke up now and then to make an irritating comment).

The thing is, when I am losing and want to moan about it the usual purpose is to illicit sympathy or have someone tell me that I played it right and didn't deserve to lose.

It only take a few moment of thought to realize that not only are these unneeded but you guys don't actually give a flying frag if I lost with pocket whatevers to gimp-rock offsuit.

But more important than that is the realization that moaning about it isn't just useless it is NEGATIVE for my game and mindset.

When we lose a hand or session(s) it is some ratio of coolers:bad-play.

It behooves us to consider how much is under our control and how much is just the game... pick up, dust off and learn from our mistakes.

Now I know that sometimes we just gotta vent, and sometimes the game gets under the skin. And it might be annoying to hear a guy like me preach about it when my 8 buy-in losing streak is $80 when yours is $400 or $1600 or whatever... but it's all relative.

For me, in the end, I have found I seem to come unstuck a little faster when I remember not to complain.

I think of the best players who seem, also to follow this rule.

After all, as your Tagline thingy says it all:
E(X^2)-E(X)^2 Happens
