30 BI is enough to move up to 50nl imo (in fact that's where I was when I moved). Just be willing to move down if you start dropping BIs.

Here's a question then. I'm having a real hard time maintaining a decent winrate at 25NL. After 8.5k hands this month, I'm barely in profit. I've got about 30 buyins for 50NL. Is it worth me playing 1k or so hands of 50NL to test the waters?

EDIT: One of the most frustrating things is table selection. It seems like every time a seat opens, it's to the left of 2 min-buy nits, and to the right of 2 TAG regs with 200BBs.

you could play with a rule where you drop down if you have 25 buyins for it but can continue to play as long as your above that

All good points. I think 5 buy-ins is enough leeway to get a decent idea of the play at 50NL.

Hey FT users, does anyone have equivalent scripts to Stars that match, 'auto mouse movement', 'time bank click', 'table highlighter'?

Does FT shortcuts do all that?

also how the **** do you sort the lobby out with filters, ie, like Stars does with filtering tables on players to flop, pot size etc etc?

BTW, WV, yes I did, and I've played a few hands but trying to get my scripts sorted and getting used to the software.

Cash game filter are coming eventually (they've been promising them for YEARS), but for right now I just sort by type and open nothing but deep tables.

Not sure what auto mouse movement is but FTS does the other 2 and it auto mouse is just returning the mouse to a specified location when a new table pops up it does that too.

There are likely free AHK scripts to do those things as well.

Ahh cool, yeah the auto mouse thing basically moves your mouse cursor next to the fold button on the highlighted table, therefore making it easy to multi table. Cheers WV, and stay off my tables coz I don't want to be contributing to your bankroll :p.

Any chance of getting away from this? In retrospect, he cold-called a 3-bet, so the set made perfect sense.

On the plus side, I already won a buy-in at 50NL from a guy who decided to 5-bet pocket 4s against my KK. So, the 50NL experiment is interesting, if a little hectic. :)

30 buy ins is more than enough to shoot at 50nl

I wasn't trying to judge one way or the other, just wanted to hear his reasoning.

Since the original raiser folded, even with another caller, I can only assume he's not calling 3bets OOP too often, but that's what I wanted to know from PokerVic.

Sorry if my original question seemed to insinuate that I would never 3bet AQs in position, that's certainly not the case.

Yes. It's a setting that may be off by default (I'll look when I get home).

I'll sometimes do this if I think:
a) There's a decent chance the raiser will fold to a 3-bet. (the table had been pretty tight up to this point. A lot of raise-and-take-it, but not much else)
b) I've got a decent hand that plays well in position. (and I think AQs qualifies)
c) I like to throw a few non-monsters into my 3-bet range to keep the regs guessing.

But, my 3-betting and calling of 3-bets is still very much in flux, so I'm glad to hear any criticism.
