Your dealt two random cards, Flop is 3 random cards, turn and river two more random cards... 10 possible hands in play....

Random is Luck........ choice is guess work... .. Odds are chance....

Its really Luck.... or odds,,,, or whatever you call it.

I think we need both. But, of course, you need more luck.

In my opinion, luck decides a lot in poker, but if you make the right decisions, then at a distance you will be in +

For me luck is essential. sometimes. I'm in trouble and opportunity comes. The most important thing is not to miss opportunities.

Imagine that you need good hands to win a pot. But pretending to have good hands to win a pot is where all the skills come from.
Poker is a blend of knowledge, skill, patience and luck.
Without knowledge you don't have skills, without skill you don't have patience, and without patience you end up having no luck.

65% Skill 45% luck :d (Obviously not accurate) but even the most skilled players can go on month/year long downswings - So it's definitely different from a 100% skill based game.

It is a mixture of both, sometimes skill prevails, the majority of the time skill prevails. Then luck comes into the game and either screws you or helps you out.

Poker is a fight with a random number generator. You can't beat him without luck.

Both, you always have an equal chance of winning before every hand. Skill is very important but without luck it's harder to win.

I think poker comes first and foremost with gaming skills. Luck can help in the short run.
To make money playing poker, you need discipline and constant work on the game!

I don't agree. Why then are there successful bettors who play plus games?

I think is mixed of both things, but for me is 90% skills that is your knowledge in strategies about poker and the experience, and 10% of luck because good hands had a probability to lost.
An then I recommend you to practice a lot, learn a lot.

it's a mixture of luck and skill, the percentages of each one are also variable, always keep in mind to maximize gains and mitigate losses, keep track and win chip by chip, without rushing and without missing good opportunities

I's say it's 75% 25% luck, that depends also on the stakes you play as well as the type of tournaments you play, the deeper the tournament is the less luck factor intervenes

Poker is a skill game, but as in other sports, luck is also present, only more apparent.

Its game of skill and a bit gamble is allways present, but at the end allways skill is what you need to win it all.

Luck accounts for less than half of the success, according to a Finnish pro poker player - estimate 40 percent. The remaining 60 percent is skill, knowledge and stress tolerance. Only 10 percent of the players are on the winning side.

Both! a lucky player might win one in 100 Tournaments, maybe less, but a skilful player will cash in half of the Tournaments he plays.
I have played League Poker for over 10 years and have Won the League without winning a single game, How? because I played every week and always made the FT gaining points in the League and Qualifying for Regional Finals.
You don't need to be a great player, just a commitment to play every week and amass points.
If you are not in it, You cannot win it.

If you're bad, luck. If you're good, mostly skill
Reality: probably somewhere in between.
