When I lose motivation, I just stop playing. I take a book and read it, go to bed early. After work I can take a walk in the fresh air longer than usual. I watch TV shows or football. Then after a week or even more, I start all over again.

Some people have to play without motivation, if this is a job for you and you are on a contract with a poker fund, but of course, if there is no desire, then it is better to do something else and not spend money just like that

I caught myself playing online poker when I was unmotivated few times, well, more than few times. I was not in the mood for playing poker, but I did bacause I wanted some quick money. That never turned good for me. Instead of earning money, I was losing money. It's important to have mind set where you can control yourself and that's easier to say than actually mastered.
To answer your queastion, when I am feeling unmotivated to play poker, I usually play poker.

when i am unmotivated, usually leads to bad decision making, so i try to stay away for a few days until i get the urge to play.

That depends. I will play one small buy-in tournament, if it doesn't go as I had hoped I will take the rest of the day off. I have done that more frequently recently and I have played better when I come back. Other days I will try to play through it and those days don't go well at all. So, that is why I now lean to taking the day off if I'm not feeling it.

I never play if I'm not motivated and "into it". Learned this lesson long ago. Why would a human being ever do anything if they're not motivated? Altho for most of us, we do it every weekday of our lives, when we are forced to get up and go to work at a job we really don't like very much... That's why I have always had the dream of playing poker for a living... sadly, it is still just a dream... but you gotta have a dream, that is motivation all by itself.

But as my hobby has shown me, if you do anything too often - even something as fun as poker - it just turns into a job that you begin to hate... and so it goes in our capitalistic world. Poker probably isn't the solution, sadly. The true answer is giving up our love of money, stop chasing that carrot on a stick and find a way to be happy even if you are poor as dirt. I've been very successful in that regard, I retired from my job years ago despite not being very wealthy - doesn't matter, I am very happy these days! Hope everyone enjoys a very merry Christmas or whatever holiday you may be celebrating.

During a long session, when I’m already tired and I need to continue playing the tournament, I try to distract myself from poker as much as possible in my free minutes ... And if I don’t need to continue playing, then of course I rest until I feel confident
