I still think Daniel Negreanu is the best player, besides being a charismatic person.

In Brazil, the best player at the moment is Yuri Martins Dzivielevski, better known online as theNERDguy.

To be honest, in my opinion, the best professional players have already left this world.

The best player is Yuri Martins. Because he dominates the field he participates without a shadow of a doubt! Master the game like no one else, making unusual and accurate moves!

There certainly isn't a 'single best player' in all formats!

But for me, Erik Seidel is a good all-rounder.

The best NL Holdem player imo is Adrian Mateos but the best all around player is Nick Schulman.
 
Hard to name just one, but guys like Stephen Chidwick and Jason Koon are crushing high rollers consistently. If you factor in all-around skill, adaptability, and results, they’re right up there. Still, “best” depends on the format—live, online, MTTs, cash—it’s not one-size-fits-all.
 
It's hard to say, but I like the Spanish player Adrian Mateos, he was the player who earned the most last year.
 
Ian Simpson, he’s winning everything at the moment, and a nice guy to boot. Godspeed Ian!

Negreanu is not even in the top 20 of the best players today, brother, Yuri is way above him today
 
In my opinion there are a few players which are fighting for that title. I would say it is also hard to list 5 of this top players but mine would be :

.)Phil Hellmuth
.)P. Ivey
.)A. Mateos
.)A. Esfandiari

The best professional poker player today is IMO very tough to pick and the answer will be subjective... I will still go with DNegs as he is around for so long and still has love for the game and still studies hard to improve his skills, also he battles successfully at all the buy-in levels(I think he has 2 or 3 titles won this year* high roller events- great preparation before wsop... Negreanu's WSOP vlogs are pretty amazing and definitely fun to watch 👍😎); overall, like him or not, Daniel Negreanu was/ is one of the best ambassadors for the game and he deserves our appreciation...
