At a live poker game, what kind of dealer would you prefer: A fast but annoying dealer, or a slow but friendly dealer?

Slow and friendly of course. I don't put up with rude jackasses whether they're dealers or players makes no difference. Thankfully all the dealers at my local casino are all pretty chill, easy going and friendly. Sadly the players aren't.

Cheers!!!

I would rather prefer slow but friendly. If he's annoying he could distract me from playing my A game.

A friendly dealer is the only way to go. An annoying dealer will not last long before a player will call her/him out. Else management attention will be called to kick her/him out. As you know, the tolerance of players are not really high. 😎

I would prefer fast😎.... I'd find a slow dealer incredibly annoying, not really looking to make friends with the dealer, just deal the cards already👍

Friendly poker dealers can make a game exponentially more enjoyable, but the casinos want speed - more hands, more rake. If you can find a slower but friendly dealer, go to their table every single time!

Non-smelling and easy on the eyes. No-nonsense and not too verbal. Slow and friendly are fine as long as the person is accurate.

I have had dealers that knew some of the players and they got involved in the table conversation. I do not like this and feel that the dealer being chatty with players is a distraction from the game.
I have also had dealers that try to be super fast and cards are coming out like little space ships spinning and flying to god knows where and get exposed from time to time. It makes you think they get a commission on how many hands per hour they can deal.

I like a dealer that is steady and keeps the game moving without slinging the cards out like they are little space ships.

Fast, honest and good looking dealer. I don't care if he's friendly or not.

It's better to play 100 hands instead of 50!

Fast is good, friendly is even better. Since we can't have it all, I'd rather have a friendly dealer, no matter how fast they're dealing.

It will probably all depend on my mood. Sometimes I can be quick and irritable, while at other times I’m slow and dignified 🙂

Out of the two options given, the slow and friendly dealer would be my go-to. I just hope you aren't thinking of this guy:

Difficult to answer without knowing how slow or how annoying, ( or in what way they are annoying ). Since these are both spectrums the words slow and annoying can mean very different things within their spectrums. At some point the dealer becomes slow enough that they are annoying. In general I would say that since I would be playing live for the fun of it primarily , that I would choose slow and friendly. If I was playing primarily to make money I guess I would have to choose fast.

I would definitely go with the fast but rude variant. If the game runs somooth and quick and everything is in order and within the rules then i would definitely put up with it.

Live poker is already slow enough for me and someone fake smiling all the time and dealing very slow would kind of mini tilt me 😅

Definitely the slow but friendly dealer. 😂 Few more minutes is nothing compared to sitting there being annoyed for hours. Good vibes at the table > speed every time. ♠️😄

Fast vs. slow, ehhhh. I'll go with the one who is smiling, and doesn't look like someone pooped in his oatmeal this morning. 🙂

Um vendedor rápido, mas irritante, ou um vendedor lento, mas amigável?
Although I've never played live, I prefer a dealer that's slow but friendly.

I think this would also be an advantage for beginners; it would give them time to better organize their strategies and, since the dealer is a great guy, I could ask questions if they came up.

The slow but friendly dealer! See that speed is relative: if the dealer is annoying, he/she can make a long session feel way longer. And, as long as the pace isn’t ridiculously slow, I’d rather have a relaxed table where everyone is comfortable, and maybe I would end up feeling that time has passed much faster, because I would be enjoying the session.

Friendly, every time. The dealer should make the players feel welcome, not unwanted. Besided, the dealer should get faster the more he deals!
