We all know that isn't true! :wink:

Unofficially it is "unscheduled" maintenance -- whatever that means. People are not buying the whole DDoS attack spiel anymore and getting wise to something else happening behind the scenes.

While GitHub has the record for the largest DDoS attack in history last March, they mitigated that attack in under one hour. If ACR is still having attacks, then they should now hold the record for the longest sustained DDoS attack in history.

Another thing is that ACR uses CloudFlare. CloudFlare is a service that specializes in DDoS mitigation. It is the same service that GitHub uses. So it begs the question, why can GitHub get out of the largest attack in history in such a quick time and ACR cannot?

My belief, and this is just conjecture, is that ACR is in the process of moving to other servers. They may be actually moving to servers that can handle larger loads, which would be great. This is the optimist in me, and just may be wishful thinking.

If they had plans to upgrade the hardware and firmware, it would stand to reason that the player community would be looped in to avoid the negative feedback and results that mystery has been creating.

And I agree that CloudFlare is as prepped and prepared to repel DDos attacks as well as anyone in the world. The problem is that a new attack based on new attack parameters is so easy to launch. Could be why shutdowns were happening every night and were mitigated quicker each time.


Thinking maybe the upgrade now are a response to help prevent future events and while they are down increase capacity as well. None of my conjecture fits into the UNSCHEDULED version of today.


The term usually means reacting to a surprise event, not a planned one.


We ALL can agree on one thing, ACR IS NOT sharing the truth or details with us. IMHO not a move to increase or create trust and loyalty. Just say'n...:rock:

No "PROMOs" on my end. No emails except the occasional self-promotion. Must be for a select group of their player population. After what has been suffered and the pain and agony caused by their forced silence, one would think and hope a near future event would be planned to show us some gratitude. Due to my intense desire to live, I will not hold my breath.

The last promo mail I received was in January (had to search for it). I think there may be an opt out for that type of mailing somewhere. When I can get back into my account, I will do a quick check. I do know that I instinctively check any boxes for opt-outs usually and that is why I don't get them.

And maybe after you cross that $20 threshold of freeroll winnings, the offer is just not that tempting as an inducement anymore!

Your choice of course, but a bit more patience might pay big dividends in the near future. They are showing daily signs of a full recovery. Once this happens, they will be stronger and in a better position MAYBE to start implementing suggestions from the huge list that has been growing for more than a year and a half.

Or we could grow old and die while they continue to ignore us and nothing good changes.

Figure I will wait and see. Definitely not going to cost me any money, just a little time and effort to watch from a distance.

No refunds were sent .. anyone else playing around 12:10 pst last night missing refunded entry fee's ?

on my ends its a 50 c game I was playing with about 3x stack past late reg 20/40 left .
. maybe ill refresh the financial history 5x again .
.or maybe it restarted when I was sleeping and I just lost .. .
..maybe they just rolled back the whole thing
but it looks like I still paid to enter it according to time stamps.

I swear If I get directed to the free roll department id rather give up my 50c than get that ****** level of disregard again .. ty for reading

Well, it is impossible to register for any tournaments right now. You can't view the tournament lobbies either. Same thing with the SnGs, even tho they may have pre-registered players showing prior to the server maintenance.

I think John mentioned it earlier, the only cash tables you can get into are the heads-up variety. Viewing the table from any of the cash games do not show seats for you to occupy.

As for your new depositor ticket, that is a huge prize fund with a small pool of players. And no, you are not a sucker. Getting into that freeroll is worth the price of admission. If you get screwed out that tournament, please let us know. I am sure you will get into it though, just at a later date when they can assure that it can be played without being interrupted.

tgeezee's post quoted above (#5604) seems to need your help.

tgeezee, I imagine you will need the tourney ID and the last hand you participated in. Should be available from your hand history.

I am guessing, as you did, that it restarted and ended without you. They are very good about refunds or chopping games the are stopped.

I had no idea what this site was at first just a hoop to get into some game for me .
some mod contacted me for not so useful posts
But I found out it can be a good resource the only way to get ACR info
mostly its Slim whos helpful posts clear up some questions from a sensible point of view

I dono about no first amendment sort of Angle I see lots of stupid threads maybe they are just picking on the new guy ill feel bad here but when its aces cracked by 56 suited because you limped (aka the Slow play) I'm not going to be on your side
