I feel like those variances on GG Poker are crazy!!! I won't lie those bad beats which I get there due to some odd variances makes me wonder - did i just get GG'd again lol!! I play on other Apps but I don't really get that many bad ezperiences as I do on GG - is it the players or the RNG - I don't think I'm the only one - share with me - if you think im crazy lol!!

People said the same about Stars back in the day.
I don't think there is much difference on sites.
The reason you encounter the most at GG might be because there is no other platform with that amount of players .
More players , more volume, more bad beats

I consider GGPoker to be the most honest site of all; there will always be players who complain about not being able to win on one site while managing to do so on others.

Another possible explanation for experienced differences between sites is the type of games played. I sometimes play the Battle Royal on GG Poker. This game is a hyperturbo, which already result in a lot of all-in preflop hands. And when you are all-in preflop, you get to see, what people had, as well as all 5 community cards, so for that reason alone you will see more "crazy" runouts.

In top of that the first 10 minutes is a fast forward game, which mean more hands per hour are dealt, and at the final table people are calling wider than in other games to win the bounties. The latter is just good strategy, but bad players take it to far, and for that reason you will see more cases, where a really shitty hand like J4 offsuit beat AK or AQ all-in preflop.

I dont know, what you mean by "honest site"? If this means high moral standard, then I certainly have to disagree, because I think, GG Poker have a lot of quite questionable business practices. But that does not mean, there is any reason to think, the site is rigged. Just as there is no reason to think, PokerStars or other well known sites are rigged.

You're definitely not the only one who feels that way. GG has huge player pools and people tend to play a lot looser, so you naturally end up seeing more all-ins and more crazy runouts. Add in the fact that we remember bad beats much more vividly than standard hands, and it can make it feel like the RNG is out to get us. Unless there's actual evidence of problems with the software, I'd lean more toward player tendencies and variance than a rigged RNG.

Player pool tendencies depend more on, which games you play, than specific sites. If a lot of your activity on GG Poker consist of using the free $0.25 tickets, you get for Spins and Battle Royal, or playing freerolls, then you will see a lot of people going all-in preflop with bad hands and resulting "crazy" runouts. But that will also be the case, you you play similar games at other sites.

But if you play even just 10NL cash games, the play is no looser than on other sites, except for the fact, the full ring games play with an ante, which makes it correct to loosen up a bit. But apart from that its the same mix of regulars and fish as 10NL on any other site, I have played on. Its pretty rare, someone are all-in preflop for 100-200BB, and when it happen, its usually some kind of standard set-up like KK vs. AA.

Yes preflop allin (sometimes multiple jams) are common in the 25cents - 3$ MBRs. I like to exploit that pushing allin with monsters cause you will get a call from some fish regularely
Very different in the higher tiers
10 and 25$ are played much more disciplined but the variance is still high
Preflop allin will get you knowhere at this level

I have mostly played $10 games, and even there its not uncommon to see a 4-5 way preflop all-in at the beginning of the final table. Part of that is adjustment to the bounties, but quite often there are also 1-2 hands, that should probably not be there. I can only imagine, that it must be even more crazy at the lower stakes :)

It happens yes, very often there are 2-3 lowstacks who push allin immediately at FT but much rarer than in the lower tiers 👍🏼

Yes i exploit that buy pushing allin with monsters in rush stage to build a stack.
Works out most of the time when variance doesn't screw me over :D

I dont think, the Rush stage play that different from other SnGs at least not in the $10 games. Maybe people call a bit wider, because they panic about the 10 minute clock, but generally its just short stacked poker except for the first 2 minutes, where a starting stack is 50BB. It makes sense also to try to reach the final table with a big stack, but this dynamic also exist in other bounty tournaments. So if you are used to playing PKOs, you will not be surpriced by this.

But yeah you certainly dont need to be shy about making some big jams like piling in 30BB with AK/AQ from the blinds over a standard open. Lots of worse hands will call, and if they fold, you win the pot and dont need to play out of position with a hand, that miss the flop 2 out of 3 times. This is also just good poker strategy a lot of the time and can be used in other games as well. Even solvers will often 3-bet small with QQ-AA and some bluffs for balance and then jam hands like AK/AQ and some lower pairs.

Couldn't agree more 👍🏼
And it works out that way.
Im at slightly below 7000 games played with 53,05% rush stage clear .
You're right , similar approach in a PKO tourney ( which I play almost exclusively )
When you have a Bounty Turbo even , I play it almost the same as a MBR .
Maybe a tad tighter

How would you know what he plays? sharkscope stopped tracking games on GG a few years ago (unless a person manually enters them himself)

I disagree on cash game player pools being the same on all sites. I know they vary quite a bit by site and also by time of day. Even the countries that play on the sites are different (ie. tons of Asians on GG)

No poker site without these practices could be profitable in the long term.

The AI says to such behavior that these practices are no "fraud" in legal views.
But all are more or less ethical questionable. One is the PVI at GG-Poker, there are some others.
If you are able to look at ELO Ratings in spins you can imagine what a poker site can do with such a tool.
Even PS is using such methods (they had to learn by hard, at the point being nearly bankrupt).

The problem for me is that these things are more or less hidden from the customer.
Not communicating what they do (business secret) is the ethical borderline.

Do you have any evidence to back up what you're saying, or is that just your opinion?

Thats true but most people on the CC forum play freerolls and very low stakes, when you check their profiles on Sharkscope. So without knowing anything else, and especially if they "feel" something about the RNG, or stuff like that, its a pretty safe bet, they are mostly playing free games and/or very low stakes.

Yeah there might be some differences, but not nearly as big as the difference between the player pool in $0.25 Mystery Battle Royal (where some are using their free daily ticket) and the player pool in 10NL cash games. There are also a ton of Russian and other Eastern European players on GG Poker, and for sure they are no different from similar players on other sites.

Were they insane only against you? Or do you choose to remember only the ones that hurt? And the suspense leading up to the river card reveal creates that impression—that they’re messing with the players' heads.

I don't know exactly what you play on GGpoker—cash games or MTTs—but the RNG here is perfectly reasonable. Of all the sites I play on, the game here is as fair as possible for everyone. Everyone suffers bad beats; you need to play a large enough sample of hands to claim that variance is specifically unfair to you. I find it hard to believe that you lose every single hand and never win coin-flips when you're the underdog.

Are you saying, that other sites are rigged? Or how exactly is the game there less "fair for everyone"? Which are those sites?

This is actually a really good point. No other poker site, I have played on, does this, and for me its with a distance the most annoying feature of GG Poker. When I am all-in before the river, I just want the cards to be dealt and get it over with. I have zero need to drag it out before knowing, if my hand held, or if my opponent hit their ace or flush on the river. And as you say, GG Poker do this to mess with peoples heads. They want their customers to become gamblers rather than poker players, because in this way they can make more profit for the owners of the site.
