I've had over $100 in that bonus section of my balance for well over 1 year now???? I've received some small player-to-player transfers and it seems now I must clear a bonus on that money... 2.5pts per $1 or something. So basically if a person sent me $50 in a transfer... I'd need to play over $500 in tourneys just to receive that $50... I mean so I can actually withdrawal it. Is this correct? Because if so, I would have NEVER received ANY tranfers from anyone EVER! It's basically like throwing money away.... it's like getting TAXED on money that was already deposited onto the site.
I actually traded "REAL" money from other pokersites (ie. Pokerstars, TitanPoker, Partypoker, ACR, GGPoker) for sh1tty fake 888Poker $$'s. My thoughts were "Sure... I'll purchase some more 888Poker $$'s and then I'll play more volume on that site when I get the chance". Well I haven't had much of a chance (as far as MTT's goes) and really only play around a bit at 5 & 10nl cash tables when there's actually enough players on them to be bothered with.
It must be 18mos. now & I still haven't cleared the ~$100. (didn't even know I had to for the first 12mos. until I heard about it on the forum here). Not only that, I have no way of even seeing how many player pts. I would need to clear any remaining bonus? (the bonus NEVER seems to decrease in size... even if I put in a few thousand hands... it stays the same).
What is the deal with this???

Hence my question in the previous post. Garbage tactics like this will drive away customers faster than pretty much anything I can think of.
Years ago I used to recommend to people to give 888Poker a try, especially if they're playing micro stakes poker. That's not the case now. Today I recommend them to nobody.

What are the goals of 888 as far as online poker goes? Is it just to attempt to get all customers donating their dollars on the goofy BLAST games? Is this what they are hoping to cater to?

My experience is that customer retention isn't a high priority to them. I'd be curious to see what your experience is when this is all done. If you remain dissatisfied, it does other future customers a disservice if you don't put that out there for them to see.

What is the other side of the debate? My guess is that this was introduced in hopes that players would be needing to play MORE on the site but it actually sends them away.
Would you be able to answer some of the questions in my post? ... instead of just telling me it's been sent to some team.

No I have say on company policy and you have described how it works but as I have already said it was changed a year ago so all I can do is pass it over to management as I am obliged to do for there attention but I can't see them changing anything in the near future.

Not sure why you're making this response to me. I'm not your customer (you made that decision easy), so the details of your products and services aren't of interest to me. Making sure that new potential customers are aware that, at least in the view of some people, you offer substandard customer service, was my only priority. Seemed relevant considering @Poker Orifice 's comments.

imo, it's nothing but a scam! It's a cheap, sh1tty way for a site to hold onto the customer's money.

You didn't answer my question. I don't think you can answer my question (at least not 'honestly').

Actually I have played on 888Poker since I'm certain long before you were part of the site. (since 2007). The site I signed up to didn't have such a ridiculous money-stealing policy. If it had, I would've never have signed up to it.
I have probably done dozens of player-to-player transfers on the site. I was not aware of the change where one needed to earn pts. on money that had already been deposited. I've also done hundreds of player-to-player transfers on other sites... None of them have such a desperate attempt at a money grab as 888's.

The thing is, this actually does the exact OPPOSITE of it's intended purpose. It doesn't 'force' players to play more... it drives them away and has them not wanting to play at all!

You yourself have inspired me to withdrawal my entire balance from the site.... and I will gladly leave the $115 'bonus' (< LOL at Bonus.. because it is ALL money that I have traded my hard-earned money for).

I just wasted 30mins. of my life, searching for the player-to-player transfer policy.
All I was able to find was something that told me how to see my WD & Dep. history. When I go to that, it shows ZERO for the past 6mos. (... zero for 'Transfers' as well). 6mos. is the max. you can check.
There's no 'progress bar' or any type of indicator to show when this 'player to player' 'bonus' is cleared. Don't you find it odd that NONE of mine has cleared so far? And that I can find zero record of anything.

Have you read your actual policies? They're like the terms and conditions for pretty much everything online these day, which is to say that they're giant chunks of legalese. They're designed to avoid transparency, and just give you the legal cover to say "we told you".

When you win anything using bonus money it gets added to the bonus amount until the bonus is cleared, or subtracted from the bonus if you lose. So if your $100 bonus hasn't changed at all then you haven't even begun the process of clearing it.

So as long as you have a real money balance you can never clear a bonus.
If you do withdraw your balance and leave just the bonus you should be able to make progress in clearing the bonus.

Of course that only counts towards "bonus" money from transfers as a regular bonus will be forfeit if you make any withdrawal, which is a catch-22, you can't clear the bonus if you have any real money and if you withdraw your real money you forfeit the bonus.

I have ~$625 on the site, $113 of this is 'bonus' (which would only be p2p transfers).

Maybe if I was to register for a $500 MTT (or some tourneys that added up to this amount), and then played micro cash tables I could see if it had an effect on clearing my 'bonus'

Honestly this is such a joke! The more customers that realize this, the more customers will run from the site. I honestly had big plans of increasing my play on there substantially (when playing an MTT schedule I had intentions of playing all of the $5 to $22 buyin MTT's on their schedule. Now I will play the minimum it takes to get MY money off of the site... and then 'maybe' I'll try to spin up a roll from some CC cashes. (< but I doubt it).

The site could be good. Why do they choose to do something so bad?

I'd love to hear your responses to some of the recent posts on this thread (not necessarily the ones I've written because... well... I can see how you're treating me (definitely not like a 'customer').

What do you think of orsino's response as to why my 'bonus' is still sitting at the same amount now for over 1year? Is it because no matter how much I play on 888, I am actually not able to even clear 1 cent of that 'bonus'. And how is this even considered a 'bonus' when it was p2p transferred funds???

What if a player uses their Gold Coins for a 'Bonus', LOL. Basically they will have just screwed themselves... with coins worth nothing.

Why did they remove some of the MTT ticket offerings from that Gold Coin 'My Club' thing? At least in the past I could purchase some $5 mtt tickets. Now you can only purchase 1 $5 mtt ticket that doesn't even play at a time of day I could use it.

Isn't the site supposed to be coming up with things that will ATTRACT customers.... 'entice customers'????? I mean who comes up with this stuff? And how could anyone actually think there's something good about it???

I can tell you I have witnessed the player pool numbers dropping off over the past year, while I watch them grow on the other sites I play on. Is poker no longer important to 888Poker? Perhaps they could change the name ... 888casino
