PokerStars: Home Games gone for German players

Hey forum,

@bapfel already warned us but now it's official:
If you're in Germany, once you install the new update, you cannot access Home Games anymore.

I still saw the Home Games icon in my mobile App but when I opened it, I was removed from all the clubs.

I tried to rejoin one but received the following pop-up:

Goodbye special events from CardsChat, goodbye to the cozy home games between you. 🥲

Was fun while it lasted!

It also means the home game club setup by me is abandoned now. So Valentin, feel free to set up a home game for Monday's to make up for it. 😊

Its ridiculous what regulations do to our beloved game 😥

They probably did this so people could not use it as "private club" where they actually play for real money (with play chips and payouts with some payment app).

Really hoping they stop at that and they won't exclude Germans from freerolls also .

Could be but it makes no sense as long as they can play real money games on PS outside of homegames.
Bet the politicians feel like heros cause it's obviously to prevent gambling addiction 🙄

This could actually happen one day. A few other regulated countrys already can no more see cardschat freerolls on stars.

Ugh! That's very unfortunate. I still hold hope that this will change at least for the Home Games.

Yes I know , like Sweden or Switzerland .
Consider myself lucky that they excluded Austrians "only" from most promotions/ challenges cause we tax gambling sites severely

I didn't get the same message as Andy! if I go to Home Games they throw me out right away and I have to confirm some terms and conditions and then log in again and then throw out again, it just goes on like this as an endless loop. I think I'm too good a player and they aren't sure yet if they want to get rid of me

Haha, same happened to me at first

But after a few repetitions of this loop it stopped and showed me it had kicked me from all HG clubs

The interesting thing is that the new Terms and Conditions still mention Home Games. But it is only a link that goes to an error 404 site 🤦‍♀️

It seems like they aren't even trying to use the ruse of "responsible gaming", but rather, "You're not getting away with playing without us getting our cut!" Geez!

I cannot believe it that it is not allowed. Perhaps the problem is, that you can also prepare HomeGames with a real buyin, but the German regulation says for Playmoney, that it is allowed, when the winning chances and so on are the same, which is the case I guess.

I think a reason is that they changed the contract partner for German players in the terms&conditions. So they have needed a new licence and they didn`t get the "Playmoney" application approved or just didn`t approve for it. Otherwise the behaviour makes no sense, as GG Poker just started its playmoney tournaments also for Germans.

I know this has nothing to do with anything...but a cry reaction would be nice about now <3 Boooooooooo!!! <3 and they were really great games!

But I would like to know why ban you from playing home games? Can you Germans still play the other Cardschat freerolls?, if so what's the difference.🤔

I think this complete regulation thing is made by no pokerplaying people. I understand that the government would protect the people from loosing money or getting a addiction. But i think we have other problems and the implementation is very bad. The national big poker brother is watching you from halle is also a nice try to getting all the overview. But from datasecure view it is not fair and i think its a scandal. But there is no lobby for the average cc user like us, we play for fun, with a passion of that game. The average people try to put poker in a criminal corner but the did knew nothing about the strategie and all the skills which you must have to develop a long time success.

Funny thing is they do get their cut in real money homegames .
Always 10%
In my homegames I offer 1,10$ and 2,20$ buy ins.
Any registration adds 1 or 2 $ to the pool.
Pokerstars keeps 10c/20c
