I probably move from a BR nit to a degenerate BRM because have the same amount ($160) and still have planned to keep playing 10nl and even take some shots on 16-25nl later on the month if pass the $250 again.
Tbh i don´t think we need more than $100 for 5nl (20bi´s) even if go on a swing there of 10bi´s down still will have $50 which is more than enough for 2nl (25bis). So with $160 have the 20bi´s for 5nl plus 6bis for 10nl. So i do plan to keep mixing 10nl this month, but is just about what make you feel ok.
The key point for me is to know when to move down, there is no need to wait to go all 10bi´s on the upper level to move down, if see are running crapy just move down early until back to normal.
I mean last month go down 10bi´s on 4-5k hands and feel like shit, but i do follow my plan and cut 25nl tables as soon lose 1bi, then cut 16nl when lost 2 more, then lost 3.5 more on 10nl and cut that too and ended with 3.5 more lost on 5nl. If i lost all 10bi´s on 25 or 16nl i would obliterate my BR but because move down fast i even manage to end month on green (and cashout $45 just before the swing). So i´m fine to take the risk if mean finally getting out of 5nl.
One of the big positives of move up i find is that because games looks little harder, at the time you move down again your previews level look even softer than before which help to put things on perspective. i´m sure if keep trying 16-25nl even if are for short periods will get to the point that 10nl don´t look that hard. But if stay on 5nl until reach $250-$300 like was doing before then will feel i´m stuck there forever.
This is my feeling, but i know everyone need to do what is best for him-self so...
Anyway. Best of luck geting back man.
