JJ is just a pair preflop. It all depends on the situation, normally I fold if there are 2 raisers. But in a tournament I always want to see the flop first.

I’m even in the game discarding JJ QQ preflop when players play aggressively or play all-in because players can have high cards or high pairs that can fall on the table on the flop KK AA AK, so it’s better not to play much in the game take risks on JJ and wait for a couple more and play!

Not normal for me....but then again I folded AA with no other bets today, because it was guaranteed win without risking the farm. Otherwise...... play dem JJ's !

It's dependent on various situations but I can see myself folding it easily.

Depends on the tournament and situation, I have lost to many times with JJ and if someone goes all in I will consider folding because JJ is just an average hand for me

Yeah, I folded straight and flush already, so I can fold one pair for sure ;)
I believe opponent's 4-bet often means you are behind with JJ. And even opp's 3-bet sometimes, because according to pro players standard range for it TT-AA, AQ, AK.

I mean, it's a good pre-flop hand but most of the times you are beat in the flop. So yeah I'd fold.

With the obvious preflop action it's not difficult to fold - when the signs are obvious.

Tougher decisions are JJ post flop vs 2 players when any Q,K,A flops.
Sometimes I play my JJ as if they were the nuts regardless - depending on the player. Sometimes the players end up making a better pair and win.
Other times - with a good read you can see JJs are beat and let them go, other times I bite down on a chip and ride them to the end. lol

Just the other day they held up against 4 other players with Q coming on the flop, decided - these players are too aggro and I'm going with the hand. It worked out, but that was an anomaly for sure.

Its a toss up which hands are tougher to play JJs or A/K post flop.
I prefer KK over all others, though they have a tendency to loose once in a while just like every other hand.

GL with those difficult hands. :)

What do you mean with aggressiveness? 3 or 4 times BB? And how much BB do you have leftover?

Usually I play JJ, and I have a look at the flop.
If the flop is good, I play along or even bet
If flop is not good, then I would fold

Why would ever fold a pair preflop, unless pressurred?

JJ, unless UTG, or some other reason, play it like the semi-premium hand it is. Others can come up with creative reasons to fold preflop, but if I get a pocket pair, rarely am I talking myself OUT of playing it.

I find JJ plays WAY better than 50-50, and play it pretty strong!

It depends on the position and style of the player.A raise from a Tight player in UTG, a fold. Raise a loose player in HJ CO, Call or 3-Bet.

I find it hard to fold pocket pairs. How big of a bet will cause you to fold big pocket pairs?

I consider this hand very strong, today I won by making JJJ against AA and I also lost AA to JJ on the JJJ river.
I think it's a profitable hand in the long run.

It all depwnds on the current situation. All pocket pairs have the ability to flop pretty well. I would perhaps not always call a shove with them unless I am shortstacked anyway. Of course if there is a lot of ICM pressure or waiting on a ladder I would definitely fold them if the situation dictated, on the other hand if the other players were limping in this situation I would use them to exploit them if my stack allowed.

Not Normal

Erik moraes said:
I ended up folding twice for the aggressiveness of the opponent

For me this is not normal.

I fold JJ preflop in special circumstances.

Yes aggression - sometimes I realize that I am only set mining w JJ. Often what I realize is that the continuation bet from my opponent will be very very large.

Good luck !

I never fold JJ on the preflop, poker is a very not predictable game and unknown your opponent bluffing or not, need risk to win:).
