Rivers Casino is lighting things up in Schenectady this month with its third installment of the Electric City Poker Series.
Satellites for the 14-event series begins tomorrow (Sept. 1), and runs until the fourth starting day of the $1,200 Main Event on Sept. 26. The headliner carries a $250,000 prize pool guarantee.
The winner of the Main Event will also receive a prize package to November’s $1,600 Ante Up Championship at The Venetian casino and hotel in Las Vegas.
The $400 mini-main event carried a $100,000 guarantee, which will be fed by six starting flights beginning on Monday, Sept 14. It runs until Sept. 20.
A $450 black-chip bounty tourney on Sept. 20, also carries a $25,000 prize-pool guarantee, a does a $250 event the next night which promises at least $10,000 in prizes.
Schenectady is nicknamed the Electric City thanks to being the birthplace place of General Electric. At one, it was one of the world’s first electrified cities.
