James Chen played the role of bouncer at PokerGo Tour’s PLO $10,500 quattro bounty tournament that’s taking place at the ARIA in Las Vegas by removing player after player from the premises.
Chen, who makes his home in Pittsburgh, won $239,000 in total prize money, but most of that came from knocking out 14 of the 57 entries for $132,000 in bounty prizes.
This is Chen’s second PGT title, and both came in PLO format. The first was worth $220,000 and came in 2024, the same year he won his only World Series of Poker bracelet in — yes, you guessed it — a $1,500 Omaha eight-or-better event ($209,350).
Runner-up was Richard Gryko, who won a total of $100,400 ($68,400 came from two bounties). Third-place finisher Youness Barakat won a total of $95,900, which $47,900 came from three bounties.
Chen’s last Hendon Mob cash was for $18,000 for finishing 13th in a $1,000 buy-in event at this year’s WSOP. He cashed in five WSOP event this summer.
His largest poker score came in 2023 when he finished second against Ben Lamb in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship at the WSOP. Chen won $304,571.
This is his fifth six-figure score. He has $1.7 million in tournament cashes according to the Hendon Mob.
