Did you lose money under the influence of alcohol because you were braver?

Absolutely. Alcohol really messes with decision-making.

I've never been in this situation, however, playing under the influence of alcohol is not a good thing.

im not a big fan of alcohal, an occasional bacardi with coke sometimes, other than that i prefer orange juice over beer and whiskey.

Alcohol is a very powerful poison that presses hard on the fast forward button of your life. It is one of the most addictive habits. It weakens your immune system, greatly reduces your concentration. It gradually destroys your nervous system, eats away at your self-confidence, and negatively affects your ability to relax. It also tastes disgusting and will cost you at least six figures over the course of your life.

I think there's a scale.

If you can have a beer or two over a long live game session you should feel any effects, if you're drunk while playing you're putting yourself in a situation where your decision making skills are compromised while playing a mentally challenging competitive game.

I don't really drink that much anymore so it's easy for me to say but I don't really think there's a reason to be drunk while playing poker. The game is hard enough I don't think we need to make it any harder for ourselves.

I have never spent money under the influence of alcohol. I drink very rarely and very little, only when there is a serious reason to celebrate, such as a birthday, New Year, or Christmas. I can drink 2-3 glasses of wine, but not more.

The truth is that it doesn't go hand in hand, it's better to be lucid. It can lead to bad decisions in your session.

I usually drink rum and coke when I'm playing. It can actually give you an advantage over some other players who will underestimate you as an opponent. That is of course dependent upon your having learned to function normally while drinking. It can be done if you have trained yourself to make your plays based on the cards and players, rather than emotion and hunches. 🙂

I generally don't drink alcohol when playing poker.
I did once experiment in a pub low buyin game and I found that two pints of beer was enough to start to affect my judgement, which is about the same as the drink-drive limit.

I have lost money under the influence of alcohol many times. A lot of times. And not because I was braver, but because I was stupid enough.
For the last two years, I have not gambled when I am drunk.

If I drink just a little it helps me with my patience, too much it's not good.

Due to the influence of alcohol during the game, you can just fall asleep and perhaps this will be the best thing you can do for your financial situation, so you will lose less.

I think these things need to be kept away from each other if you are serious about the game.

Of course, like most of us, I lost money playing drunk. I think no one is immune from this. But my experience allowed me to draw conclusions and I don't play drunk anymore 🙂

Alcohol and poker and you can add in tiredness don’t mix for optimal returns! Avoid at all costs!

Alcohol messes with you and causes you to play poorly so don't do simple as that

used to go to the casino every friday for a whole and it was a very relaxed and loose game.
i was inexperienced live so i use to get a couple of drinks which were fine.
