The game is changing so fast at the moment its unreal, playing a very standard TAG style is going to go from a marginal winner to a marginal losing style on nl$100/200 in Feb 2009, before going back to a winnar when everyone turns into a maniac sometime in June 2009 imo, with semi-calling station being profitable in April/May.

Depends on definition of "standard TAG style". If you mean set mining and just waiting for monsters I'd say it's already gotten to the point where it can't be that profitable if it is at all at 100/200nl. One of the biggest most recent jumps in my game was thinking about it from this angle: Almost everyone's gotten to the point where they've learned "don't stack off with just one pair". Most people make it very obvious when they have top pair and try to pot control. The answer is don't let them. Just continue to pound on them if they won't go broke with a pair. And if they start to go broke with a pair start taking the same line with sets. Basically bottom line is most regs don't adapt that well. See if they like to make hero calls with TP or whether they fold them to aggression. Obviously the tough part of poker is the counter-adaptations and when they start stacking lighter to you, you tighten up to counter, they stop stacking as light to counter, etc. But most regs just simply don't adapt that well. And don't go crazy, as any reg can see when you've bet/bet/shoved the last 10 hands you've played together. But there's a lot of profit to be made by every few orbits or so taking that line. I actually like to do this with PPs a lot. Several months ago it used to be easy to get sets paid. Now it's not (or maybe it was just easy at the limits I was playing at the time, but that's not what I've heard). So since your sets aren't getting paid, just start playing your missed sets exactly like sets. Opponent now has the option to start paying your sets or folding to your bluffs a lot.

Also I've noticed the opposite as well for adjustments. Instead of getting even more crazy aggressive, I've seen a ton more limp-raises, starting off as just for value and now there are several regs who use it for a bluff as well. I've started flatting AA sometimes to a raise with many regs who like to squeeze behind me. The FR games aren't that aggro, but I've seen high-stakes 6max players talk about flatting AA/KK from the blinds.

Basically bottom line is poker's about adjustment. Set mining used to be a very profitable strategy because of the amount of fish there were that would stack super-light and thus made it so even the regs could profitably stack TPTK because it crushed the average stacking hand. That's no longer the case. People are getting better, but still have plenty of holes.

Also especially at Stars there are a ton of mega-tablers who play close to 24 tables. Several are very very good and will make adjustments like that. Others just play a standard ABC game and play for fpps, and those are the ones who can be exploited and abused. Also not going into your db and studying opponents you play a lot of hands with is a huge leak.

Anyway that's my rant, not entirely sure what my overall point was, but I can only hope I made it clear .

Wow I missed so much value on the river today.... and slow playing tptk on the flop is disastrous, when villain hits set on the turn imo!

All I can say is... I feel ya.

Yeah the AK hand.
Now that I look back at it it does make little sence to check turn and reraise river. It would make a little sense if I wanted him to think I hit the weel, but not a lot and I was going for value.

I'll have to look but if he shoves I think I need to cal lsomething like $8 with $5 commited and I dont think I will do that. Basically I was going for a flat call for value from weaker ace and a fold if not.

Question: If he didn't hit his T and he fired the same $1 bet on river, do you think he would've called ?
Ie does it stay a bad play from me ?

Great advice until bankroll management becomes an issue. I try to do that when i'm vastly overolled for the limit i play. But otherwise, it's a recipe for going busto.

Yesterday I reinstalled the Bet pot script from AHK and it was working fine. Both mouse wheel click and right mouse button. today after the update when I clicked the right mouse button it brought up the Theme select menu .

Support confirmed that the right click thing is new and it can't be turned off.
Luckily they forwarded my mail to management ....
