okay, similar to chess beacause of the mental factor but in chess there's no luck at all

I think it can be found among sports lessons, as you don't want to pay mental attention, logic and perseverance are also a great sport !!!

surely poker is a sport of the mind and it also requires a lot of physical preparation and resistance to endure long tournaments .... poker is really an athlete thing

even the classic sports that are part of the Olympics historically, I believe that luck is also a factor ... maybe even in the exact science there is a little luck in some discoveries .... of course the hard work surpasses all luck

Poker is classified as a mind sport, doing hundreds of algebra equations with hand after hand for hours is exhausting and far more demanding than golf...so yes it is a sport, just because you don’t get a head injury like in football which is an asinine thing for anyone to do, does not mean poker is not a sport, your just not abusing your body in an idiotic fashion..that is if you know to stop playing poker after 7-8 hours per session lol

Like a lot of things there is no luck that worth it against the technique of knowlege on poker.
Poker is already in the organization os sports of mind. And not only that, if it was only lucky, it would not have professionals plaing poker!!
But in my opinion, in begginning we used to think poker is luck, but when we learn more of game we realise that ins not.

Do you think chess is sport?? Well, I do... For me poker is the same when it come to brain activity.. and also to be a pro, you gotta have a active routine just like any other sport.. people tend to think that stuff like food physical exercises, mind control have no effect on your results... But they have! Actually I'm about to say that this is what separates pros to beginners
So for me, yes! It is a sport

No it is not for the Olympics, because poker is a game with money. The Olympic spirit teaches about peace, justice, freedom, fair play, and generally is an anthem of man and his potential.

If you can play while drinking a beer then it's not a sport...

I consider it more of a mind game, similar to chess etc.

I can't imagine Poker will ever be an Olympic sport, but it would be a nice way to get an Olympic medal no matter how unathletic you are
