Poker can be seen in several ways ... for some it is a hobby, for others it is a sport and for others it is their job ... for me it is my passion ... I love to play poker and if I can earn it a few dollars much better ...!

Chess is not a sport....LOL...either is poker! The only thing kind of sporty around it is....endurance. And a mental game....like a baseball pitcher. Mixing up pitches vs Mixing up betting styles. But it is not physical...and uncoordinated people can win!

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye... then it becomes a sport. Unless someone can reference an eye loss in poker, it's a game.

Its just a gambling game. Even though you have all skills in poker. In the end its pure luck. As AA didnot always win the game.

It definitely requires skill to be successful over a long period of time BUT the definition of sport is "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature." Poker isn't really athletic...so I don't know.

This is a sport, you must always keep yourself in shape for many hours of sessions, pump your knowledge, there are no Olympic games, I don’t think it’s already a world championship that wants to get into all poker players and not only, but I dream to remove reservations and we could play from any angle planets online as it fascinated me.

Poker alone does not, but all card games together do.

Poker is a game of chance. For this reason alone it will never be a sport game. Because in sport the main overwhelming factor is a skill. Not so in poker. At least not to that extent.

Furthermore, the International Mental Sports Association finally recognized poker as a game of mind and skill, on the same level as chess, bridge, or go.
So yes! I consider poker a sport, a mental sport.
