Both, but I want to win of course, even if it is a fun game, if I can make some money out of it, why not?
And in the part of having fun, it can be the contrary when I am next to the prize and lose.

Losing real money is not fun
Sometimes I go to the play money poker site to play for fun
But it gets boring cause there are lots of players that don’t try but there some players who do try hard with play money and its there I find my game

I play for fun all the time, sure the prize can be great however I used to be an addict, played every waking minute. At that point poker had consumed my life, every emotion I had relied on flipping cards.. Than I took an entire year break, no cards or gambling at all. Now that I've "detox" myself from that addiction I'm able to not only enjoy myself while playing but also not get hung up on 1 hand that I lost or played poorly.

I play real money games but small money, no more than 5 USD a game, just to make it more serious. my goal is to learn poker not to make money for now, but still playing real money game make it more excited. So Yes, I play real money games but not with intention to make millions right now, maybe when I learn more, for now is just a fun. Blessing !

I think the vast majority play for money. Personally I think that you should like what you do and have fun in the process, to become the best or be among the best you have to love what you do, when there is love there is interest and when there is interest you investigate and study how to improve what you are doing failing.

I will not hide it. I play poker mainly for the money, and fun is in the background. If I won a lot of money at poker, I would definitely limit my playing and spend my time on something else.

I absolutly play for fun/money. its the competition against all these pokerplayers AND poker itself. its not enough to have Aces, u have to feel the board + "the enemy" poker players to win aces or any other hand. to me its full of strategical plays and i love it to beat somebody else and take all of their chips.

I am definitely playing for fun, I am naturally competitive so I want to win. I did have an idea a few years ago to try and climb the stakes. This never really worked out, even though I was a winning player at the micros and had developed small bankrolls at multiple sites. One issue for me is I am an older guy who just never developed the 12-14 hour sessions. I would multi-table MTT's or cash but just lost the drive as soon as I forced myself to grind.

After a couple of years of false starts and resetting goals, I have come to my best situation, I can still maintain my "poker bankroll" without needing to add any funds to the accounts and every so often I still make a withdrawal to pay for something I want. I have made a few posts explaining myself and I do it to reinforce my decision. Every few months I still have urges to pick up the pace and now I just talk myself back down into a part time grinder having fun
