I smoke less because I play poker on my second monitor while playing another game on my first monitor. If I have a lull in game play I want to grab a smoke and light it up. I try and recognize whether my body craves it or if I'm just doing it out of boredom. If I smoke too much I just end up getting a headache.

Yes I definitelysmoke more paying poker is stressful it definitely gets to ur nerve especially if you really love poker like me I spend a lot of time playing that's how the cards roll

I smoke when I play poker it's more I use it to calm down from some bad streaks but I don't think it will increase my cigarette consumption at this time

I smoke when I'm all in.. then I need to smoke if I lose or win the hand...I smoke before a tournament and after im eliminated...heck I smoke even when I have the winning hand then all of a sudden some crap happens i.e I have trip kings and my opponent magically ends up with a flush holding a duece three suited

I smoke sometimes not all the time, when I have cigars and I do it to lower the adrenaline, I am not an active smoker only once in a while to relax and lower the adrenaline.

I smoke when I'm anxious, or when I get cold to warm up my body a bit, also when I'm stressed and I want to relax, in poker I smoke a little maybe to avoid nervousness and lower the intensity.

Unfortunately, yes. I have this ugly habit that when I do something, which requires more concentration, I smoke more. I do it mechanically.

I just wanted to let you know that smoking does everything but warming your body up. Usually if you are surrounded by non smokers you are the one who is cold. The reason is the decreased blood flow because of the narrowed vessels caused by smoking and that's why your risk of getting a heart attack is higher.

On the topic. I am 28 years old guy who started smoking at the age of 14. And by smoking I mean a lot. I tried to quit smoking and the longest period was 3 months and I did it a couple of times. Every time I do it I see an improvement in every aspect of my life. This year my new year's resolution was to do it again and suddenly my poker results became better than ever. Replace smoking with something productive. When you get a bad beat go and learn some language or if you wanna smoke something better it would be a pure marijuana without tobacco.

I do not smoke but find myself wanting to snack more. I am not hungry but sometimes the stress of the game gives me nervous energy and I eat.

I smoke exponentially more when i'm playing poker or gambling in general. I'm not sure if its an anxiety thing or just because when playing poker its difficult to occupy the time between actions with anything more substantial.
