If poker didn't involve money would you still find it an amazing game?

The game is the most interesting I've played to date, however I've been trying to imagine what it would be like if there was no money involved in its nature, but I say that as if it was created without the money involved, as if we didn't know it in this format with cash prizes. would it be so interesting? I think that money is a component of poker, and without it a lot of factors would change, and it would lose some of its meaning.

for me, without money, the interest would be much lower, I would not waste my time and nerves sitting in tournaments for hours

Money is what makes it worth the effort it would be worth not much without getting paid for your effort, its like playing basketball as a pro but you only play with no salary, like any boardgame after sometime you just get tired of it and just play it when you feel for it with some friends, so it is a big NO for me.

Poker is a game I enjoy. I still hate losing to a bad river when playing play money, I just don't like losing..

Hello, Everybody! I think, Money in Poker, as litmus test: this means indicator success, skill, luck, and etc...
Without factor of Money these all are losing sense, by my opinion... And won't a serious motivation to play!

At the moment, money is too important in life, so I think poker without money would be very uninteresting and would not attract so many people. And money is a very good motivation even for people in countries where salaries are tens of dollars.

Poker is a fun card game on its own. In most of its variants at least.

Money and gambling aspect of it, give it a rush of adrenaline that attracts a wider adult audience then the game would otherwise.

I think that poker can not exist without money aspect (in that way that we love it). You can just try to play freerolls without money prize in it and you will find that it's totally uncontrolable no strategy all-in something, nothing interesting there 🤷‍♂️. When poeple don't feel the heat of loosing money as a result of their acts, they stop trying to do anything smart. So I came to a conclusion, that poker and money are inseparable

To me is not a out the money, but I wouldn't play it anyway, cause if there's no money involved, most of players tend to call any two, any draw, any middle pair connected. Just play some play money hands and you'll see

For me personally the game itself is so exciting and fun that of course I would play and enjoy poker without money being involved. I have played many times with friends and family without money and it was always fun. Of course money brings a certain seriousness into the game but even without it poker is a great game.

For some it's main motivation, for others additional. There are many people, including me, who got in this not because of pure love to the game - because of freedom it can give when done right. I mean grinding is dull, but gives possibility to profit in flexible hours, when and where you want. There was this thread I posted which has been deleted by admins in which this student described how he's doing this - he was playing hour here, hour there in breaks between lectures, making $10k in 2 months. No commitment to the place, no 9-5.
