I just made the jump myself away from SnG's to cash games. I was getting really bored with the STTs and wanted something different. So I started on the micro's and my br was good enough, but not great.

I think I would've done okay and survived the last downswing if I'd completely switched to cash. But I was also playing a few MTT's with minimal entrants to which I had been doing quite well at. I was trying to use that as my buffer against the downswing in cash, but I wasn't rolled for those tourneys anymore and my mistake led to me being zilched of my br.

So now, I'm not depositing any more until I have three things; HEM or PT3, have read HOH, and Harringtons on Cash Games.

Until that is completed my br will depend on CC freerolls. And still yet, I probably won't play any of my winnings until I've completed those three things.

Playing in the Million tonight, pretty aggro table and haven't picked up many hands. Still plenty of time to go and at least I've got nits to my left, so when no one raises and it gets to my button I can pretty much steal ATC. Got 11,225 chips (started with 10k), average is little over 13k. 184.5k top prize :).

Also downswings suck :(

The end of variance

About 10000 hands played over the last 2 weeks. A mix of 25 and 50NL. Running crazy hot at 14 BB/100, half of which is actually pure all-in luck.

I love heaters... :D

yea nice graph belgo...

I honestly have no idea wtf is going on with my graph this month. I think on oct. 1st i turned into a crazy LAG or something. Doesn't help that a couple 3 barrel bluffs going wrong on the river, when my hand reading as been spot on but villain's "weak hand on the flop and weak hand on the turn" being randomly improved on a scare river (i even had a guy peel the flop with A high, call turn with a weak FD on a 3 to a flush board, then call river when the "scare" ace hits making him tp). Such an messed up graph...

20k hands in 5 days is just crazy zach :S i think i'll get like 10k all month...

I have a question. I've been looking at all these graphs and most of them start out with a serious decline. Is this just a fluke or is there a reason to this?

I'm wondering because I'm trying to get where I can buy HEM or PT3 and I don't want to freak out when I see mine do this.

Well usually you sit in at the start in the blinds, and anyone from the blinds is going to be a loser long-term, so you start off losing a bunch of blinds usually. Then as you get around to better position you start to go up on average.

Poker sucks btw decided to try some 200nl 6max, was actually playing well I think, then lost a flip (AK vs. QQ AIPF) and had set over set on super-drawy board and am $1k down on the day :(.

Man, it's ridiculous how bad I always run at 200nl. I wish there were more 400nl games running so I could play strictly at that limit :(.

Okay, that makes sense to me now. I was wondering why everyone had a losing streak at first but that didn't cross my mind. Thanks!:D:D:D

More likely an anomaly however. You shouldn't really try to formulate conclusions about data based on a tiny sample size.

-Can't really get all your tables set up and have the blinds come to you at the same time, since it takes time to set up multiple tables and you enter the table in a random position...so you may post the BB right away and may have to sit out an entire round. As a result, your losses in the blinds would be offset by you being in more profitable positions on other tables at the same time.
-The "losing streak" from blinds wouldn't look that bad on a daily graph (say you 8 table 100nl...you are only losing $12 from blinds before you are in the profitable positions).

@ zach

:( ouch

Due to the help of certain CCers that shall remain nameless, early in the month here things are looking good.

;)

A + month would be uncharted territory for me, but a LONG time to go before the end of the month.

Say it with me ....... CORRECT DECISIONS.

Especially early in the morning EST, starting your own table = ++++++ev. It's a period marked by most regs playing, tons of shortstackers, not many good tables, and super-long waitlists. So I started some tables, making sure they were the 50 BB ones. This other 200nl reg and myself always sat across the table from each other. We started out playing HU but no real fancy moves, mainly we were just both waiting for the fish to show up. And show up they did, we took turns using our position on the fish and I had a fairly good morning, 2 buy-ins back up in ~500 hands.

Anyway, I've come to realize the 160k hands is a bit out of reach. I've got midterms coming up along with a paper and I know at the end it'll be worse with a final and/or final project in every single class (not this month, but I mean for like next year if I were going for sne when I'd have to keep this up every month I didn't have baseball and play more than this in the summer). Anyway I'm not gonna kill myself to reach that goal, but still going to try to play as much as I can (30k/week minimum would be nice).

@Jay: ewwww. I know it's a ss but that's just absolutely sick. Needed perfect-perfect on the turn-river to win and hit the exact 2 outs. Board straight still splits but that's one sick hand.

Had a decent day today, probably gonna go for another 2-3k hands tonight, but I've really gotta get some more hw/studying done. 2 midterm exams and 2 papers due in the next 2 weeks. At least then we get a 4-day weekend (and the next weekend is the East Coast Meetup).

First time really ramping up the amount of table I played. Ran like shit, highlights were flopping a royal against an opponent with 2bb left, getting oversetted, and basically getting loads of action at the wrong times. Could have been way worse had I tilted.

Cascaded 16 tables, and its not as bad as I thought it would be but blah, anyone who seriously thinks that they can play anywhere close to optimally is kidding themselves. Still its pretty straightforward.

Graph :(
