Yes, we all love a good score, but there is something deeper in poker. For me, it's solving a problem, a competition and a sense of growth. What sustains your passion for the game, even when you're having a bad time or you're stuck in a downswing? I wonder what motivates others to come back again and again.

I am motivated by money. For me, poker is a hobby that brings me additional income. It all started with a game for fun, but over time I realised that poker can also be a source of income, which is quite important to me.

I don't know about other players, but my main and only motivation is money. Yes, it's definitely good that poker is an opportunity to express yourself. I also like in poker the opportunity to dominate (for example, when I'm chip leader). It certainly boosts my mood. 😏

Beyond the money for me is the complete challenge of winning poker tournaments. The thrill and passion of that chase for the win keeps me coming back to Vegas. The home games I play is strictly for fun, it’s with family and friends and it’s exciting to see my mother in law or father in law win with zero training, just playing their cards and having a good time. Vegas is the challenge and I like to see how far I can get in the game. Have fun and good luck!

I'm not ashamed to say that I sometimes relax with some rare poker variant on PokerStars or Replay Poker with just Play Money.

When I play for real money, I multitable, table- and player-select, which takes a lot of concentration, and the grind is just not fun anymore.

It's also depressing to play from Sweden with your own money (no matter the stakes) when you don't get any rakeback, bonuses, or freerolls from the sites.

besides the money the game itself, because whoever wins certainly likes the game so I think it's because of the love of poker

Besides the possibility of winning money, what makes playing poker worth it to me is the possibility of always winning money. If it weren't for this possibility, I wouldn't even play poker. Winning money is the measurable, tangible result that makes playing poker worth it. If it weren't for the money, poker wouldn't be worth playing for me.

It is a strategic game with a good portion of thrill and luck. Besides it is a social game and you can play with friends and unknown people and have a good time 🙂

For me, poker is first and foremost entertainment. The opportunity to spend my time well, fun and with benefit motivates me to play, if not every day, then most of the week 🙂

I like poker because of the excitement of the game, besides the money, and the adrenaline rush it gives in decisive hands.

I really don't know, poker is a game that I really like, I play it practically every day, what makes me feel is what motivates me to continue playing this game, it's also one of my few hobbies, another game that I practice other than poker is “trick”, but it takes 4 people.

Poker is like a negotiation — you're trying to sell something you don't actually have.
I don’t know any other card game like it.
Most others are just pure math, but poker has psychology, pressure, and storytelling.

Poker offers intellectual challenge, emotional discipline, and personal growth. It sharpens decision-making, patience, and risk assessment. The psychological depth of reading opponents and adapting strategy keeps it mentally engaging. Many enjoy the community, competition, and the sense of mastery over time.

The fun and the excitement, fortunately I've gotten the results, because I think I'm good at the level I'm at (tournaments under $22). I practically play daily, the point is to enjoy it.

You´ve said it all!

Money is essential, but few games or sports give you the adrenaline rush that poker does.

Moreover, this adrenaline is provided with enormous frequency, as it happens hand after hand.😎😎
