hobby, recreational

I tend to profit in almost every freeroll I enter... BUT with that being said, I lose more money in paid tournaments than I win in freerolls. I enjoy playing, I'm sharpening my skills, and adjusting my game. I lose less now than in the past, but to me it's an acceptable loss at this point. Only a small few sports players ever go pro, and they had to devote time and money to get as good as they are... So i'll likely never go pro, but I also spend far less money on poker than I would if I played sports. It's a great way to kill time, I'll never get too old to play it, and it's a fantastic way to keep busy in the times of social distancing and covid-19... so it's a great hobby.

Poker is not only about making money! You invest money in your entertainment, Train your mind and get a lot of emotions! I think it's better than movies and alcohol!

In ten years that I have been playing online poker, my story is very similar to yours, I have never won a big prize and I have rarely won tournaments, of course I see it more as entertainment than a way of life. I do believe that there are people who live from it but for me it is not life. In live tournaments the story has been very different and fortune has smiled on me more, but as I told you from the beginning, poker for me is a simple entertainment

Poker is only profitable when discipline, focus, studies, patience and a little luck.

It really depends on what your thoughts on profitability because I'd you have no bills to pay and you win a few bucks well then you could say it was profitable for you..now if it's a job for you like it is me well then you will have to grind alot online or hit the live cash tables in order to make enough for you to live your lifestyle ....either way enjoy what your doing no matter skill level and and someone really wants to excel and move up in poker then you will have to utilize some kind of utility (books/videos) to gain new ideas and understandment of the game

Typical starsos, hand. You think you're good, you push your money, the "fish" and ot are the only hand in hand that beats. Hall subtracts the rocket, then the fish shifts its full stack 2 hours 72o to another reg, hall subtracts the rocket. Who's doing well? I'm not because I lost! it was an experience for him to snatch your full house with poker!

Only if taken as a profession, with lots of hard work, discipline, study and dedication.

The truth is that the vast majority of the players are losing players.

Poker is too profitable as long as you dedicate yourself exclusively to the game. Only for players with a lot of experience and patience, which is my motto

If you do not make enough money to be able to play for money and only play tournaments you will make more profit from poker.

Hello everyone.

There is a phrase that I read once and I think it summarizes a little the subject in question in this thread.
The phrase is from Doyle Brunson: "To be a successful player you have to completely forget about money."
Perhaps it is difficult to understand this but I still think that it must be very difficult to live from poker, at least initially and especially if you have a precarious financial situation like mine currently.
But hey, poker is also part of life, and in it "money calls money" (I think it's a universal law). You can't fight that, unless you have patronage haha.
Anyway, I will continue to play freerolls, mtt and sits at very low buy-ins and study hard, trying to build my bankrolll little by little.

Kind regards from Buenos Aires.

I read somewhere that 1% of the players are pronouns (Hs prok), 5% make a living from poker (but not pro), 5% are On players, the remaining 89 are mildly or heavily falling players. Or somehow these% reasons were split. The point is that out of a million players, 100k are the ones who don't lose money with the game.

I need to improve my skills to gamble at higher Buy In tournaments. At the moment I venture to compete in the Freerolls, trying to raise my bankroll, so I can then go to a tournament in which I can profit.

Like with anything in life. You need to put serious time into something in order for it to be profitable. And poker is still unpredictable. It is played for the love of the game. It surely can be profitable but only with serious hours put towards learning the game.

Biggest hand when I go all-in with JJ + cards, and really, as if the players feel it, they call with 36o. And throw him poker 3. Or give it 109s. And he flops him a flush. I have read that the variation in hyper-turbo can be large and that it is not possible to achieve a sky-high ROI because of this.

The best comment.
I add never take it personal.
