Michael Watson put himself in a tie with the second most Triton Super High Roller titles this week in Montenegro after winning the $30,000 No-Limit hold’em turbo event.

Watson is fourth on Canada’s all-time tournament money list. The 42-year-old will most likely hit $40 million in winnings within the year. The $659,000 that came with the Triton trophy didn’t even make his top 10 best cash list.
“Any time you get to lift a Triton trophy, it’s definitely meaningful,” Watson said afterwards. “I’m now back in a tie for second in the most Triton trophies, so it’s pretty cool.”
He has 23 victories in big tourneys since 2009, and is tied with Matthias Eibinger and Punnat Punsri for second on the tour’s title leaderboard. His Triton cashes are worth about $15 million of his lifetime total.
The one-day turbo event in Montenegro attracted 84 entrants. The top nine were paid.

Canuck’s in control
The Triton Super High Roller Series hit Montenegro May 12 and finishes up May 27.
The opening event was billed as the $25k Golden Decade tournament to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Triton Super High Roller tour. The event brought in 146 entries who built a prize pool worth $3.65 million.
Dan Dvoress was the guy who walked away with the trophy and the $849,000 top prize. He pushed his lifetime winnings stack over $50 million. That puts him two in front of Watson for Canadian players. Only Daniel Negreanu sits in front of him with $57.6 million. Sam Greenwood is the Canuck in fourth with $34.4 million in tournament cashes.
Jonathan Duhamel rounds out the top five with $18 million, followed by Kristen Foxen with $15.1 million, Sorel Mizzi with $14.4 million, Mike McDonald with $13.4 million, Alexander Livingston with $9.8 million and Mike Leah with $9.7 million.
Foxen nearly gave Canadians three trophies in the $50,000 8-handed event, but her second-place finish of $1,039,000 dominated her countrymen’s payouts. That million put her above Mizzi. This is all according to the Hendon Mob.
