A man struck gold at the Sky River Casino in California by turning a $1 bet into a half-million dollars.

This is the face of a man who was struck by lightning — a strike that turned $1 into a half-million.

The man, identified at Jairo V., was playing Dollar Storm Mega Grand Link Buccaneer, a 2-cent slot machine with a very nice progressive jackpot.

He hit the big prize Wednesday morning during the pirate-themed game’s Hold & Spin feature. When all the coin symbols appeared, he could only mumble “Oh my God. Am I dreaming? Pinch me” to the staff.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our fifth year than by celebrating a jackpot of this size,” said Michael J. Facenda, president and general manager of Sky River Casino. “The stars aligned for Jairo today. His story is an exciting reminder that you never know what might happen when you walk through the doors at Sky River Casino.”

The man says he’s going to pay off his vehicles and possibly seed a small business with his newly-found wealth.

According to Lodinews.com, Sky River Casino opened in August 2022, and features more than 2,500 slot machines, 81 table games, and 18 restaurants, bars, and lounge destinations.

Planned additions include a 300-room luxury hotel, a new porte cochère with expanded valet service, a full-service day spa and salon, an outdoor pool, and approximately 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting, event, and entertainment space.
