What got you into poker?

Just the people i used to hang around with, and the skill it takes to play got me hooked

I've always loved card games.

I started playing cards since the age of 7, with my grandfather and father.

So when I saw a 5 card draw game in a western movie, I immediately thought "I wanna play this game"

Sadly, in the country I live in, poker was not popular at that time, and internet wasn't invented yet. So I couldn't really play with anyone. So happy that with Holdem made poker more popular worldwide, so now I can play with my friends, and compete online.

I love card games, love strategy. Poker have it all and more!

I love games in general, but I still remember the first time I saw my older cousins playing, I obviously did not know how to play and they explained the basics to me... First hand in I rivered a straight flush, and my cousin had trips. They just looked at each other in disbelief. I loved the game ever since.

gambling is in my blood. Poker has the best odds in a casino. Momma didn’t raise no fool. Plus Poker is just cool AF.

I was looking for a game that caught my attention, after seeing several times online poker games and what is never missing, pokerstars promotions in advertisements, I decided to learn to play poker, once playing, my father gave me some tips and from so I play poker at least once a week. Regards.

I watched my older brother play and little by little he became interested in the game and not long after he started playing and it's cool

What got me into playing poker was going to parties and everyone was playing except me. I got tired of being the only one out of my circle who didn't play so I got me a 'What beats what card' and started to play and the rest is history.

Im 32 now,
what got me into poker was when i was 7 and watching family tournaments with my uncles... always wanted to play and socialize with them... as i grew older.. i learned the game... loved math and loved chance... so i started playing with them... now im not allowed to play cuz i always win lol.

Once, in my student days, my friend introduced me to the game. Since then, interest in the game has not disappeared, I like to play some tournaments on weekends.

I have been entering my home for a long time ... I looked at a group of relatives ..6 to be exact ... those 35 minutes were enough to make me fall in love with the game of poker until today ... 24 years later ... Until death do me part ... good luck friends ...

My son won 10,000 dollars so i tried it out.

People at school wanted to play a home game 19 years ago.

My father introduced me to poker when I was in highschool. I really didn't take it seriously, but I am fascinated by the game right away. Now I want to make it a priority over everything. I want to be the best in my country.

I introduced myself to poker many years ago, when I had a desktop computer at home, that was the time when players from the USA were still playing at fulltiltpoker in early 2004, now they are not allowed to go there and I read the rules and started playing

I was 18-19 years old, my brother and friends played on PS, they called me for a company.
Like most amateurs, played freerolls, liked the principle of rivalry and the opportunity to win large sums. watched live broadcasts and dreamed of being at the EPT finals someday.

Once a friend of mine showed me the game. This was back in my student days. Since then, I have been happy to play some tournaments or just sit down to play a cash game.

I watched EPT on YouTube, liked it very much, decided to play it myself

I played for years occasionally and just for fun a free pokergame App on my I-phone. I switched to Android and the App doesn't work anymore. So I registered to Pokerstars, they banned playmoney in my country and I got attracted to play with real money. Busted 2 times my bankroll, found the CC Poker Course, and as a freak for statistics, I downloaded PT4. My losses are a thing of the past and all in all I am now a few dollars up. Hope this developpment goes on...

to be honest the game of poker has always fascinated me, he thrill the excitement, the unpredictability of the game is addictive, but the player who gave me hope of becoming a top player was Daniel negraneau

I used to watch it on TV,then I start read about it and it was already to late

Living here in the UK, we had a late night TV show back in 2000 called Late Night Poker and I had played quite a bit of Stud and 5 Card Draw, but never heard of Texas Hold-em until then.
The show had a regular cast of players with a few visiting players but the regulars included Dave Devilfish Ulliot, Dave Colcough, and the Boatmen brothers Ross and Barney. Ross was also an Actor in another TV series called London's Burning, which was very popular here in the UK.
Saying that the show was quite popular and it sparked my interest, because I have always loved card games, Brag, Don, Crib, Shoot, and Poker. Of course there were adverts for poker sites and a few offered free-rolls to get you started, so I took up the free-roll's offered and couldn't win a bean.
So I wondered why, and it was after studying the Late Night poker games I realised that you cannot afford to see every flop, It is just not possible, as the blinds will see you off in no time, So I changed my strategy and started to get places in the money.
I bought book's and watched a lot of on-line Poker videos and the thing they don't show is the hand after hand of folded action, it just wouldn't be good TV.
But after winning a few Dollars in free-rolls I started to play Micro stake Sit and Go games, and became quite good at low stake games, winning more than I was losing, and it was then I decided to start playing Live games in Pubs and Clubs, and really I have never looked back.
I have done well in the last 20 years, never wanting to make a career from Poker, just happy to play for fun, and a few extra pounds in my pocket.

I was watching a lot of TV shows about poker. And another thing which drives me to play poker when I see some famous people like Ronaldo, Neymar and others by playing poker
